Summary: We hear one side of the conversation when Trip makes a holiday call home from Enterprise, sometime in the fifth year of the series and *the_abomination* did not happen. The "..." is the unheard other side of the conversation.

"No, Mom, it is NOT pneumonia, only a cold".

...

"Okay, yes I will, I mean I already have, and of course on the ship colds have been eradicated. Phlox ..."

...

"I hear ya, Mom. Yes he is an alien but he is well trained in Human medicine and has been keepin' us well these past few years."

...

"Honestly, Mom, our doctor was not lax. I picked up this virus on the space station we are moored up at. We needed to get parts ..."

...

"Yeah, okay, I WILL. Right after we disconnect. And speaking of that, our time is limited 'cause all my crewmates want to call home too and wish their folks Happy Holidays too, ya know. So how's Dad?"

...

"Yeah? Really? But he's a bit young for retirement ... What's wrong."

...

"Come on, Mom, I know when you are holdin' something back."

...

"Now don't gloss over it. Tell me the worst."

...

"Okay. Well, I know his dad had that too, but he lived for another thirty years with it."

...

"Heck, Mom, YOUR doctors sound up to their jobs too. No, I don't think you should be draggin' Dad around all over town to different doctors just to get the same damn opinion. Start Dad's treatment right now. Its VERY treatable and hardly ever fatal anymore. It's almost like just treatin' a cold. Just do it!"

...

"Now that's better. How are all my siblings?"

...

"Really?"

...

"No kidding."

...

"Ya don't say!"

...

"Aw, kids'll do that, Mom. I remember when me and Lizzie ..."

...

"Geez, Mom, I'm sorry I brought that up. Please ... please don't cry."

...

"Hey, it's alright to remember the good stuff, right? You think of her a lot too, right?"

...

"All the time? Yeah, me too. Its okay. No really, and she is still with us ya know."

...

"Honestly! I feel her spirit. I think ... no, I KNOW she is watching over you ... and me ... all of us."

...

"Say, I have some news."

...

"Yeah, good news! Remember I've been telling you about T'Pol and how we have been seeing a lot of each other?"

...

"You got her letter? Great!"

...

"Yeah, she is a VERY sweet girl ... woman. And she is sitting right here just hopin' there was enough time to say hi to ya'll."

...

"Right. I will put her on now. So Merry Christmas. Love ya all. You're gonna make me cry so I'm turning you over to the logical one for the last half minute we have left."

...

Yeah, love you bunches, take care, stay healthy and here's T'Pol..."

Trip stepped away from the screen.

"Honey, it's your turn. They want to know all about you."

T'Pol raised an eyebrow. "All about me in 30 seconds?"

T'Pol took a deep breath and stepped in front of the screen to face the Tucker clan gathered in their home, all eyes waiting to see her.

SB, I am not sure about a sequel, but probably not as I have other things I am working on right now.  And of course it would be more than 30 seconds if I did do a sequel. :s  Don't be so literal minded, LOL.  The 30 second thing was supposed to be humorous.  ;)

Linda, I sure hope you do a sequal with T'Pol and Trip's parents conversing. However, you have to give T'Pol longer than 30 seconds. She can hardly say more than "Hello, it is pleasing to meet Trips parents." and for them to answer.

SB, I will think about doing a T'Pol and Trip's parents conversation.  I like the idea that they would be accepting of T'Pol.  After all, Trip's openness to T'Pol and his own ethics would depend a large part on the way they raised him.

And all that without having one word from the other side talk !!! Wonderful.

Linda, wonderful story. However, you stopped too soon. I woulld love to have T'Pol and Trip's parents conversation related. That would be something else.

Sequal? with T'Pol's conversation with Trip's Parents and family, plese.

How is it possible that you always succeed in making me sighing by happiness?

LOVE IT!  I really prefer stories that keep Trip's relationship with his parents good.  This made me smile.
