Good Morning
Italian breakfast or, if you prefer, "Dolce far niente"
Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four
And here is the beginning of the whole story.
But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

Re: Good Morning
i see the goodies, but is that a small glass of white wine in the background...I prefer either a wee dram of Jameson's Irish Whiskey in the coffee or Mimosa. Assuming I can remember tomorrow I will photograph a proper morning meal, you know bacon, sausage, grits.....
RIP Tom, I will miss you, as will many others

Re: Good Morning
The classic Italian breakfast is consumed early in the morning. It is a light breakfast and Italians, if they can, love to eat it at Bar, or, most simply at the Caffé, like we call it, frequently limiting themselves, at home, to take first a simple cup of coffee (most of them, of course: there are exceptions and customs, tendencies, habits change, obviously).
At the Bar, at the Caffé, then, Italians take - classically - a cappuccino accompanied by a brioche, which differs from place to place. A croissant
,
or a "Veneziana" (sort of soft sweet bun)
,
or some puffs
or a "Mustacciuolo"
and so on (the amount of pastries and cakes in general that the different regions of Italy have is, honestly, huge.)
But when you can afford to make breakfast a little later, at home... ah, in this case the Italians' greediness explodes, and even a small glass of sweet white dessert wine may be acceptable, although this is has more raison d'être in the afternoon.
All this, mind you, does not mean that Italians do not like a savoury breakfast, but the "classic" is what I told you

Re: Good Morning
Only silly people smirk at grits. Best thing to eat before a busy day. Besides I am still south of the Mackinac Bridge.

Mh, difficult for me to get in the core of this exchange.
I'd like to understand, though.

Re: Good Morning
It all sounds good to me.
This time of year my preferred breakfast is steel cut oats cooked in the microwave with sliced bananas, with a little maple syrup and cream on top. Yum.
I should probably try grits in the microwave one of these days. I wouldn't feel the need to add syrup to those. Just butter and salt!

What are grits? I thought they were something you put down to stop tyres slipping on icy roads...
Pass me the scotch pancakes please!

Re: Good Morning
Ah, this starts to get interesting. I like to see and know what what is in use eating for breakfast in the various places.
At this point, two questions.
First: what are the scotch pancakes?
Second: any idea on what T'Pol would like to eat for breakfast?

Re: Good Morning
Scotch pancakes are small, sweet pancakes, usually about a quarter of an inch thick, you warm them and spread them with butter or jam or whatever. When I went to America the strange people there served them up with whipped cream and fried eggs [i]on the same plate[i].... That said, I was 3 months' pregnant at the time, and considering it took three waitresses about ten minutes to translate my earnest and very polite request for the friend eggs to be cooked through and they STILL came out practically raw, perhaps it wasn't your typical restaurant...

The ways of God are infinite (though perhaps not as much as people's tastes).

Re: Good Morning
The only thing I can remember T'Pol having for breakfast is plomeek broth. It doesn't seem logical to me to eat so little in the morning unless Vulcan physiology is even more different than I thought. I'm probably missing a more extensive menu.
