Re: Randomness
Sandal season here is maybe two months long and mosquitoes seem to delight above all things in my nice juicy feet and ankles, so I just don't do sandals. I usually don't even go out without socks unless I'm down visiting in Florida. Of course, this just proves I'm a helplessly frumpy old married woman, especially since I did have a boyfriend once who told me he was first attracted by my ankles. LOL. I don't know if this means my ankles are cute or they're just a lot better than the rest of me.

Re: Randomness
Alelou, don't find many "ankle Men" around. In the dim past "Gay 90's" when Women were dressed from the neck to the tops of their Shoes, Ankle Men abounded. A woman just didn't show her Ankles, bad taste.

Re: Randomness
LOL. I read an article back in 2002 in which an Aghan pop star talked about how Afghan men could develop a crush on a woman based on a peek at her sandals or the drape of the fabric on her burqua...
You'll work with whatever you have to go on, I guess.

Re: Randomness
Alelou, I once saw a very funny Cartoon. In a Nudist colony, man talking to a very nacked attractive young woman. She had a Band aide on her Arm. He siad "Can I look under your Band Aide" If it is hidden apparfently it is desirable.

Re: Randomness
Here's something totally random: some of you may know that the lead singer of the Knack, Doug Feiger passed away last month. He was home-grown right here in Detroit. Some of you may also be familiar with his brother Geoffrey, who represented Dr. Jack Kevorkian in the famous assisted suicide cases some years back.
Yesterday on the way to school I was listening to our local rock station WRIF, and they were interviewing THE Sharona, Doug's girlfriend of four years who was the real-life inspiration for their big hit "My Sharona." She talked about the L.A. rock scene of the 70s and 80s, had some nice things to say about Doug, and apparently she's very successful in real estate.
It was pretty cool.

Re: Randomness
I've seen the real Sharona on talk shows before. I remember seeing her on Oprah a few years back, along with the woman who was the inspiration for "The Girl from Ipanema" and a couple of others. She is a big time real estate agent, that I remember.

Re: Randomness
Speaking of blasts from the past (and randomness)... anyone see the trailer for "Runaways"? I'm not sure if I can see the movie when it comes out just yet because Dakota Fanning is only weeks younger than my daughter and they look a little too similar for my tastes but I thought it was awesome that Kristen Stewart said Joan Jett was there watching her.
Re: Randomness
I haven't seen the trailer but I saw an article on Yahoo! news and it looks awesome!
Re: Randomness
The Runaways looks awesome. The band was a little before my time, but the movie looks really interesting.

Re: Randomness
I stumbled on one of those snap-together NX-01 plastic model kits at the Science Fiction Bookstore in Stockholm today. I didn't think they sold those in Sweden so of course I nabbed it. I'm such a Trek geek!

Re: Randomness
Science Fiction bookstore? Gawd are you lucky. We have things like Barnes and Noble, Borders and a few othe chains. Very few small bookstores and not to my knowledge are speciality stores. Just General Fiction and Non fiction. That Bookstore must be a paradise. I like B&N because, if you are lucky, you can find a nice easy chair to read for as long as you want. I try to get a few books that interst me and sit out my wifes shopping at the Mall reading in comfort.

Didn't see it around so far and I figure it would be better to put this here instead of creating a new thread. Sci-fi periodic table
Didn't see Farscape, but otherwise a bit of awesomeness (I think).

Only in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmoe, not where I live. But I try and visit whenever I am in one of those major cities. And despite the name, they have as much fantasy, horror and gaming stuff as they have SF.
