Well, he recovered quite nicely and helped me. It's not like I'm the only woman there playing hockey, or even the only old woman. But I guess even dragging a hockey bag, I look more like a hockey mom than a hockey player.

I think you just expanded his horizons. 8)

Glad your rink wasn't the one in Pittsburgh that collapsed from snow on the roof, then.

It wasn't our hockey rink! But yes, pretty shocking! Everyone got out alright. Someone saw beams bending or something and everyone ran.

It's FINALLY our turn with a significant snow storm.

Now that my son has his crush on a girl in school, he HATES the idea of a snow day. Ah, how one's priorities can change...

True.
Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four

And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

I switched to Mozilla Firefox in an attempt to gain more security, and now this site has the most peculiar quality that it takes TWO views before the little yellow signal that a thread has new posts disappears.

Weirdness.

Well, it is Official. the older you get the less you are worth.

Was informed that If I bought some insurance I would only receive 25 percent of the benefits if I am 75 or older. Not worth it. Hell I cannot even get buried for that.

I would probably do better standing on a corner with a Tin cup.

Oh, cripe. So if I'm only 40 now...that means I'll be worth LESS than nothing later???

No, it just means that the insurance company almost always wins.

Honestly, unless you have dependents who need some protection (which you can do fairly cheaply with term life while your kids are young), I don't see the great advantage of life insurance over just plain saving money for a rainy day. A lot of insurance policies end up lapsing anyway, when people hit a bump in the road and can't keep up the payments or have to cash out. As usual, it's people who don't really need that money in the first place who benefit the most (or their survivors, anyway).

The exception might be a reasonably priced life insurance annuity with inflation protection. But that's usually the kind of thing you buy with a big lump sum when your pension or an estate or legal settlement gets handed over to you.

Don't we have a member in Chile, although he's not around a lot? I hope he's okay.
