Well, Phlox certainly talked him out of it fast enough.

But remember, this is the future. Presumably people can remove embryos from one body to another and do all sorts of stuff, like they did with Trip's little Xyrillian. He perhaps could reasonably suspect that T'Pol might have had something removed while she was on Vulcan in "Home." I don't think there was so much time between "Harbinger" and "Home" that he would necessarily know she was pregnant just from looking -- and she certainly was acting hormonal during that stretch.

I also don't see how you can just tell someone's had an abortion by looking, unless a woman's giving you a really well-lit view of her cervix and you happen to have some medical expertise.

Good point. I'm sure 150 years hence, embryo transplantation and other such technologies will be available. Again, it makes no sense that T'Pol would do this - but it was a crazy situation. Also, we have no idea how pregnancy would affect a Vulcan - they've got green blood and their hearts are where their livers should be.

The whole distrust thing didn't make too much sense to me. That he may have been a tad surprized and came up with several crazy theories may be understandable, but the persistence of his doubts is a contrived plot tool. T'Pol still sensed his mistrust when they were down in the lunar colony, which doesn't make sense. I think the authors were just afraid to show them in some sort of harmony.

The only reason I mentioned that I didn't think she would have an abortion was presicely because with the technology available there seems to be no need. Don't get me wrong I'm pro-life but that has nothing to do with my opinion. Look at what they did with the Augments. Trek doesn't put forth terminating embryos as something that is good or bad, just unecessary. And while it's true that you can't always tell by looking at an abdomen most mamals when they get pregnant start developing where ever the baby feeds within weeks, not months. Most men would notice that!

And Kotik you are so right, and I adore you. But to be fair, I give Trip an out due to severe stress.

One of the first signs of Pregnancy is that awomans Breasts enlarge. I once told a single female that she was Pregnant. she denied it but I persisted and she admitted I was right and asked how I knew. I said your breasts are larger. Most women don't start to show in their abdomen until about the fifth month but the Breasts are a dead give away.

I think that Phlox knew that TnT were intimate several times a week which is why he said that Trip would know if t-POl was Pregnant or if she had the Embryo removed Don't know about Vulcans but for a Human female right after an abortion wears pads in csse of bleeding. Assume T-Pol would have to do that also. Hence if they weere intimate Trip would see that.

You're assuming they were intimate and that they'd tell Phlox, um WHY??????? It's not his business unless he's doling out contraceptives which I think Trip would take care of his part by himself. Or if something was wrong and they needed help, and with Harbinger, it didn't seem that they had that problem.

Dunno, but in one Episode Phlox cluld tell that a couple wre going to mate just by loking at them so it is not a strech that he would know about TnT by looking at them. He has a zillion degrees and some of them are in physicatry and physcology. He seemed to know that T-Pol was interested in Trip and that she was probably taking Td because of him. Highly perceptive our Phlox.

He obviously knew somethhing because he didn't sound at all surprised when he told Trip that he ould know if T-Pol would be Pregnant or if she had an embryo removed. He spoke as if he knew they were intimate. Doubt if they would have to tell Him. for that atter Phlox kept harping on the fact that Archer was having sexual tension about T-Pol in ANIS Archer sure didn't tell him.

OK just because he knows there are certain pairs on ENT doen't mean he knows what nights they are having intercourse. So why would he know TnT's routine?

Didn't say he knew exactly what nights they were getting it on. Just that they were intimate on a continuing basis. He had to be very perceptive if he could tell that a couple were going to mate. they must have been sendig out signals by thier body language. Trip would but not T-Pol so Phlox could pick that up . Perhaps T-Pol might too give some body language evidence when in the company of Trip.

By that logic T'Pol would be pregnant during seasons 1-2 since that's when TPTB had Jolene's bra padded. Her chest got smaller from season three... ;-) :guffaw:

Oh dear, I just thought JB undid plastic surgery. :-p Seriously yes a woman's chest does grow, but you can also tell by the hips. The skeleton starts shifting to compensate for the baby's weight long before a woman starts showing, altering the way she walks. Never fails with my sister.

Last I heard Vulcans aren't humans. Might just be harder to tell with them. I've known plenty of human women who've managed to surprise others, too, though they were probably not women who wore catsuits on a daily basis. At any rate, in my experience it's usually women who notice other women are pregnant, not guys.

Vulcans are aliens yes, but according to Tuvok the process is pretty much the same.

Tuvok mentioned noticeably swelling breasts in the first trimester?

Vulcans do have less water in their bodies from what I've gleaned online (granted, probably all made up too). Coming from a desert planet, they might not start that process until the baby really needs them to.

I can't believe I'm arguing this. I guess it's more fun than cleaning my desk. Good night!
