On that front, because of the bond, T'Pol knows that Trip is alive even though Archer, Malcolm and Phlox say otherwise. She eventually calls Archer on it, too.

So, the book fixes the weird "fact" that in *the_abomination* there is no Romulan War (because the events took place before the war). And the apparent lack of grief over Trip. Archer, Phlox, Reed and T'Pol all know he is alive.

Also in the book, Trip & T'Pol spend a significant time grieving for Elizabeth - and T'Pol is always affected by her mother's death. It is in fact the grief over Elizabeth that helps drive Trip into becoming a Section 31 operative.

Still I'm hazzarding a guess that she didn't know he was going to be faking his death? In that type of situation I definitely prefer Tom/B'Elanna's relationship. When he does things like that she can (and does) knock him out, and then makes him "Make it up to her" A LOT! Oh heck who am I kidding, as much as I adore TnT, P/T FOREVER! And none of those crappy books where she's always leaving him and little Miral.

Exactly.
Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four

And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

Correct. In "The Good That Men Do" T'Pol is not "in the know" about Trip's "death." It is implied that after an initial rough patch in their relationship, where she pulled away from Trip in her mourning for Elizabeth, she has a breakdown at the baby's burial on Vulcan and she gives in to her need to be with Trip and rely on him for support for a while. Things quickly deteriorate and are bad between them when he takes spy assignment. Trip says that their "relationship crashed, burned and cratered" at that point.

Of course, because of the bond, T'Pol "knows" in an inutitive way that Trip is not really dead. Maybe he counted on that, I don't know, because they don't go into in much. She is, naturally, hurt that he didn't tell her what he was going to do. Before he leaves for a protracted time Trip comes to her to say goodbye while Archer is giving "THE SPEECH." Several months later, in "Kobayshi Maru," they are reunited briefly and have a passionate quicky.

A quicky!!!!!!!!!!!!! People think a quicky makes up for that? I do not get people! Now B'Elanna would, give Tom a broken jaw, fix it up, and make sure he didn't leave thir quarters for at least 2 hours, and he would not get a break. TnT are so screwed up, thank God for fanfic or they'd NEVER get it right!

Awwww. I loved their "quickie" in KM. In context, it was the best they could do. They only had a short time with each other and they decided to make the most of it, if you will. Up until then, it had been up in the air whether the romance would continue, though they were still bonded and cared deeply for one another. But in that scene, we got a sense they were still really in love, despite the fact that they were going to separate and possibly never see each other again.

I much prefer
SPOILER!!!:
the love scene  in the new book, which is totally supernova and doesn't end with them separating. But I'll take the one in KM, too.

I'm definitely happy about
SPOILER!!!:
The love scene in the new book mentions what happened in Km and the longer love scene in this book will make TnT fans happy it's well written and I'm glad to see it continues the deepening relationship between Trip& T'Pol.

Warpgirl - there is a scene in "Kobayashi Maru" that takes place about two weeks before T&T's reunion (and quicky) where T'Pol is feeling very sentimental, realizes that she misses Trip something terrible and wonders to herself "it this is what humans experience when they 'fall in love'?" Soooooooo, T'Pol realizes what she's done by pushing Trip away yet again and is feeling pretty bad about the whole thing AND she finally comes to grip with the fact tht she does, in fact love him. Not just that she is apart from her bondmate, but she LOVES HIM!!!!!

Take it from someone who has been with someone for 25 years, sometimes actions speak louder than words. Especially if one partner is a Vulcan. And actually, the words we long to hear between Trip & T'Pol DO come, just later.

I don't think words are important in TnT's relationship actually. At least, not as important as some people think they should be. I for one never need to "hear" T'Pol say the words I love you to Trip. I just have to say the whole concept of a quicky is unappealing to me. Why would you want to rush something so wonderful. Wait until you have enough time, provided you're not going off on a sucide mission. If you are I can understand why it might be OK but it still seems unappealing in general. :dunno:

Actually, it IS communicated through the bond in "Romulan War."

Come to think of it a 40 minute interlude as described in "Kobayashi Maru" is NOT a quicky. I misspoke. Malcolm tells T&T that he'll be back in 30 minutes and T'Pol tells him to make it 40. Trip says something like "what can we do in 40 minutes?" and T'Pol tells him to not waste time talking and shoves him inside his ship. Circumstances being what they were they only had a short time. Maybe not a "quicky" but it as all they had and they might never see each other again and they knew that.

I remember a thread on TRIS where you could get the text of several ST books, including "The Good that Men do." Also I have heard that in some libraries in the US have to book. So maybe this can be opportunity for you, Warpgirl, to read the book.
