AU or Not AU?

I've never watched the episode. I'm really not sure why, I mean maybe it's just because "Archer centered" episodes annoy me. I certainly wouldn't care if there was A/T stuff because it just wouldn't feel real to me anyway. That and if I can get through A Night In Sickbay and The Seventh, I can deal with a reset right? Well I guess not. But I still love your writing.

Honeybee. apparently it was first going to be that the crew would remember it. However that was nixed and the outcome was that the crew did not remember because it happened in a alternate universe. Believe Manny coto may have had somethng to do with it. He was not opposed to an Archer/T-Pol romance if it had been started earlier in the series but Trip and
T-Pol were the planned Romance. so, no one especially Archer, T-Pol or Trip should remember.

That is my story and I am sticking to it.

Why would remembering an AU damage a TnT romance? That makes NO sense whatsoever.

I think I remember reading that this was going to be the big Archer & T'Pol fall in love episode, and the original draft had them remembering their feelings and beginning a RU romance. When TnT became the plan, Sussman was bummed because he thought it was a great script/idea that would have to be scrapped. But instead, they just made it so no one would remember and they downplayed the A/T stuff that was in the original draft.

Objectively and putting aside my TnT bias, if A/T had been legitimately in love in the Twilight-verse - and it was made clear in the episode that in RU TnT were in love - and Archer (and he alone) had remembered, it would have been a big sacrifice on his part. He saves Earth, but loses the girl to his best friend in RU.

As written however, the A/T stuff just sort of creeps me out.

My biggest problem with A/T love in Twilight (not counting TnT) is the nature of Archer's illness. It is just so sick and wrong to have "true love" with those circumstances. If they had been in a relationship before he got sick or injured, I can see it. After all you don't stop loving someone if they get a mental illness. BUT they didn't. And that's what makes it sick and wrong.

Yeah, I'm on board with the idea of being in love with someone who doesn't remember your experiences together as being wrong. And totally illogical. So, no, I don't buy. I explain T'Pol's referenced "feelings" away in my story because it just doesn't work for me.

I don't see it as sick and wrong, but it just doesn't compute for me. It doesn't make sense unless Archer was already gaga for T'Pol, which I didn't see, and T'Pol was already fond of Archer, which I also didn't see. How could he fall in love and feel like doing anything about it in a single highly-traumatic day? It makes more sense to me that she might eventually develop an affection for someone she takes care of so loyally for so long, especially if ... oh, I don't know ... she has a pon farr and Trip is off being captain somewhere else. I think the ramifications of that could be kind of interesting, actually. But you would all hate me for writing it.

Well like I said if they were involved before hand, I could get it. I mean would you stop loving you mate if they got alzhimers? No of course not.

Alelou I don't mean sick and wrong, in the psycho serial killer way, I mean sick and wrong as potentially extremely unhealthy relationship way.

Honestly I think the T'Pol going into Pon Farr without Trip is being WAY TOO OVERDONE, lately what is this a new fanfic trend?

Ha. Beat you too it, amiga. Wrote. Won't post it here. Dusk is my Twilight for this site. I wrote the scenario you describe and it came out depressing in a bad way - wouldn't make A/T people happy. Wouldn't make it TnT people happy. Just kinda sad.

See to me there are good cliches that can be used over and over to great delight, and others that are just not. It isn't because I can't handle somebody saving T'Pol from certain death. I can. But it's one of those things where after a while, it gets old.

Maybe I've missed these, or ignored them, or just blanked out on them, because at the moment I don't remember any. I know JT threatened to go there in her E2 universe but I don't think she actually did have to do the deed. Or wait a minute, maybe she did in one of those variants. But I hardly thought that was a cliched treatment.

Honeybee, I'd still read your take even if it is miserable and depressing. Is it at ff.net and I completely missed it? Maybe I'm having an Alzheimers moment.

Poor T-Pol many writers have her in the sack with just about the whole bridge crew and perhaps a few others. Usually trip findfs out, forgives and forgets. Bleh.

Leave her alone. Let her have Trip and no one else. Let archer go play with hmself or with Erika. But Leave TnT Alone. That goes for Hoshi too. I am damned perotective of my favorite female characters.

I can go along with Trip getting the stuffing beaten out of him reguarly and T-Pol nursing HIM.
But it leaves me cold T-Pol gving Archer the right time of Day.

Wrote a fantasy (which I promptly dumped) in which T-Pol sweetly informs Archer that she Hates, Loathes and despises him. That she only has a professional relationship with hm and to stop asking her to his quarters. Sort of a carthesis for me.

Oh come on it's not that bad. Really I think you better start telling us where these evil fics are. Because while I have seen some fics that are "far out there" I've yet to find the ones you hate so vehemently.
