Inspired by that red t-shirt I went searching for Harbinger fics and there are some lovely ones, but my favorite wasn't really anything to do with it specifically: Miscommunication, by Ragua, at Trip T'Polers. What fun! An actual adventure, snappy dialogue, and great use of all the characters. I highly recommend it.

Now back to getting some real life stuff done.

That joke in Miscommunication that Trip calls T'Pol 'fat' in Vulcan instead of 'trusted friend' and Trips musing that no women - not even Vulcan ones - likes to be called fat, always cracks me up.

I remember when I first started learning Cantonese and I was just chatting with friends. My (then) boyfriend came over to check I wasn't being eaten alive by his mates, so he very subtley asked if I'd be free later. I was trying to say I'd be too tired, but the vowel came out wrong and I ended up saying I would be too expensive.

You can imagine the peels of laughter from his mates - but then they thought I'd done it on purpose, so I became the punster of the circle. Weird how the worlds work, eh?

And speaking of weird - had another idea for a motivator while on the train home tonight:

Presuming I've interpreted correctly, it's a comment on the differences in appearance for the Mirror Universe. Not bad, but my dislike of the whole MU-without-any-impact-on-the-RU comes into play here. (Nothing personal, of course. Just not into it.)

My sister's a bit of a closet Archer fan. We were talking about the mirror eps and she mentioned that everyone got cool make-overs or stories or "whatever" - but Archer just got killed. (I did point out the amusement of Reed wearing red and dying, so that cheered here up a bit in a weird way, seeing as I notice she has a soft spot for Malcolm, too!) The motivator was a shallow attempt to say that Archer didn't actually get anything out of the MU.

Ah well. Back to the drawing board.

Well, I found it amusing, but I wasn't confident enough to dive in with an explanation.

I did think it was odd what they did with hair in that episode. What was their reasoning? Evil people have darker hair? Because both Trip and Archer had their hair darker, didn't they? Does this mean evil MU people don't get guy-lights?
