Re: Paxton's goal
OK the first two make sense but an army... Is Palpatine in your head or something?

Some of these people haven't taken their medication. Let's see what happens now...

Re: Paxton's goal
Exactly!
No, actually I was thinking in an AU were aliens did leave Earth and Terra Prime took the power and there is a civil war and Terra Prime, in the height of hypocrisy, makes experiments with Elizabeth's clones to create the perfect soldier.
You know, the typical stuff.

Re: Paxton's goal
I love it.
Anyway here's my idea... Paxton wants to take over Earth and since he broadcasted Elizabeth's existance over the entire communication system his plan was to keep her alive for a while, then stop treatment and let the world watch as her genetic code unravled "proving" to humanity that mixing alien DNA was without a doubt the most horrific thing imaginable. Think of the conversion factor, even the most decent human being would see mixing alien DNA as some sort of horrific cruelity. Humans and aliens who were mated would be seen as more evil than serial killers and pediphiles. Because what good human wouldallow something so awful to happen.

Re: Paxton's goal
Okay I'm more twisted than I thought but the army idea makes more sense than anything else. At least it goes along with the insanity that drove Paxton to create a clone in the first place.
I just got the impression that Paxton didn't plan on Elizabeth being around long but having his own doctors wouldn't have been much use if the scientific community had access to data that proved she was crated with a fatal flaw. What good does that do him. Actually now that I think about it wouldn't it have encouraged more Vulcan/human couples because they would know that having children was indeed possible.

Re: Paxton's goal
Ah, but you are thinking that Vulcans do want hybrid children. Maybe Terra Prime's intention isn't limited to Humans.

Re: Paxton's goal
That is why it seemed to be so important that there was a third part of the Arc where TnT agree to marry and have more children. to prove Paxton wrong. I know that many consider Spock to be the first hybrid child but that isn't necesssarily so.
Burying Elizabeth and coming together along with the bond would make TnT a formidable pair. Having another child or children would be dangerous as the Terra Prime group would do thier damndest to kill all of them but it would be worth the risk to prove to the Galaxy and especially Earth and Vulcan that interspecies marriage and children need not be the end of the universe.
Kids would suffer as all "Half Breed" children do.

Re: Paxton's goal
I don't think all Vulcans would want hybrid children but neither would all humans. Not all Vulcans think alike or there would not have been Syrannites or V'Tosh Ka'tur. There were most likely other dissidents groups. I'm also sure before T'Pol fell in love with a human she wouldn't have wanted a hybrid child or at least not have considered it. But we all know the heart wants what the heart wants and we have little control over who we love.
Silverbulet I agree. I can't believe T'Pol and Sarek were the only Vulcans who loved a human.

I was thinking in "divide and conquer", actually. If not every Human or alien think alike, it's much easier to create conflict. That's all you need.

Re: Paxton's goal
I concur, but honestly I could have waited for the baby carriage, a stable relationship would have been the first step. I actually wrote a snippet for a word prompt about T'Pol giving birth to their first child after the Romulan war. In it I called the whole event revenge for Elizabeth. God knows they deserve it. It really ticked me off that Archer was the one to capture Paxton, Trip got knocked out. Stupid if anyone had the right to beat that maniac to a pulp it was him. T'Pol had to take care of Elizabeth, and the man put a gun to his mate's head. Where is BlacknBlue with the killer instinct story?

Re: Paxton's goal
Warpgirl that was one of the problems with Enterpprise. Trip was ALWAYS getting
knocked out. It was almost like the Red shirt getting killed. Trip got knocked out he was taken out of the episode for at least the last thrid or even the last half of the episode. Leaving superarcher to do the heroics.
Yes, Trip should have captured Paxton. Trip took on that guard who was a good deal larger than him. so Paxton would not have been much trouble.
It would have done my heart a power of good to see Trip beat the crap out of Paxton and have Archer knocked out for a change.
At least Trip came in for a little heroics he managed to change the direction of the beam so it landed in the bay and not on land.
But Superhero Archer has to be the H E R O.

Divide and conquer as in divide the humans and Vulcans and then conquer Starfleet and what it represented?

Re: Paxton's goal
Escriba. Yes but it was ARcher who was presented as the Hero. Trip didn't get much more than a grudging ackowledgement out of Archer.
The one part of Terra Prime that I really hated was the scene where Phlox is cryng and he says to Archer "Make something good come of this." What did he expect that archer could wave his hands and pow something good would hapen.
maybe Archer could go over to the incubater lay hands on it and Elizabeth would live.
I really, really hated that scene.
