Well, let's see. Not living up to the agreed terms of the exercise. Loosing two vessles with complete crew compliments on what is essentially a training mission. If there is no outside force responsible he stands to be cashiered for gross negligence. Not the best career move regardless how senior he may be. T'Pol knows what has been going on via Trip/bond.

Well, I think the Admiral will suprise us in the fucture! Yes, he is a grumpy old admiral with lots of prejudice, but also with a love for his home planet, that he really wants to defend againt any threats. And maybe Trip can learn him a thing or two about together with our differences we are stronger then alone, to vaguely quoted Vulcan teaching

I really love this story. First of all, the pace and flow of the story. You become almost an observer on the ship. No need for techno babble! Trip who is nervous, but also very controlled and proffesional. The teasing tenderness between Trip and Tpol made me very happy. Angst between them always makes me a little depressed.
I loved the line about that Tpol did not say much I love you, but showes in many little ways. I was thinking finally he get it! The goodbye was very good.
Liked the Archer-Trip interaction. IMO Starfleet has chosen Archer, not because he was the best, but because he was the best compromise and political correct. The pressure of being captain and his being captain has his influence on the friendship with Trip. In spite of the 20 years of friendship, the friendship has become less and less. Its suits very well that in your story they are trying to regain some of the friendship.
Nice comment about the ship and how Trip is appriacating Vulcan things.
Liked the idea of meditation and how it becomes the key of Trip founding out there is some thing wrong.

I think Kiran being a stubborn Vulcan is going to revise his thinking and losing entire crews of ships. Is a big blow to him and I think Trip may help him see that humans can help the Vulcans a sallies.

Kiran is stubborn to the point of irrational, like all Vulcans. But I don't see him as actually stupid. For whatever that might be worth.

Hooray! BnB gets it. So do Panyasan and Reanok. That makes me sooooo happy. Kiran is a rigid man caught in a rapidly changing world. He isn't evil or stupid, just out of his depth. I hope that isn't saying too much.

And yes, I'm writing. It's slow going but I'm trying to make some progress this weekend. With that said, what am I doing here? I should be pounding my computer keys. Bye for now.
