Hitchhike to Mexico, since you are in S. CA. Walk into an emergency room and let them take over. Walk out cured. Even if you have to pay for it, the bill will be less than what you would pay here, according to what I have heard on the news.

It's sounds like the person trying to draw your blood was insensitive to your fears, T'Poptarts. I have plenty of phobias myself and I don't much like needles either. Have you tried closing your eyes and thinking of something pleasant? Or is the phobia really severe? There has to be some place where you could stay to recover if you needed a sedative. I hope you feel better soon.

That's one of the most common phobias and phobias are so hard for people who don't suffer from them to understand sometimes. Me, the very first time I got blood drawn I was kinda freaked out but now I'm no more freaked out by it than one is by anything that you know is gonna hurt a little... but I can sit there and watch em do it.

I used to have a phobia about things going in my eye... until my LASEK  . That pretty much eradicated that fear.

I'd say my biggest still existing phobia is of wasps. It's THE SOUND, for some reason. Whenever I have to mow the lawn, I have to mow it in headphones, in which case I'm ok, hopefully I don't see the wasp. But if I hear it buzz in my ear I absolutely freak out.

Dude, thats exactly like the phobias that I have. Except the eye bit. I get shit in my eyes all the time, but I just find it iritating. The wasp bit is right on the money. And I aint fond of spiders, either.

TPoptarts, try to bring some music or summat, and not to watch. That used to help me when I was shit scared of them.

And I insects!
Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four

And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

I could make a list of mine, but it could get kind of boring...and long. A couple of years ago I had to have a tooth pulled and I almost passed out while lying down. I saw my blood on the dentist's white gloves and needed oxygen.

Blood doesn't bother me, unless it's mine. Then I get irritated. Spiders now. Or unstable heights. Those bother me.

I probably shouldn't tell you the story of what made me averse to dentists -- when I was about 6 and a dentist went in there and jammed on a few crowns that I needed (I had bad dental hygiene as a toddler... luckily they were all baby teeth!) and told me to "Shut up and stop being a wuss".

Actually the worse one (but funnier b/c I was older, and funny in retrospect) was when I was having a filling or some such business and the dentist remarks, "Where's all that blood coming from?" I kid you not :guffaw:

Know what cured me of my aversion to doing to the dentist? three words:

Gosh, Elessar, that experience with a dentist as a child would have made me opt for having all my teeth pulled so I never had to return to a dentist again and just drinking smoothies for the rest of my life. I am glad that I have a GOOD dentist who cares about shielding his patients from pain.
Working on a major fan fic project. Two-thirds done. Hope to put it up in the not TOO distant future.
