Tell that to my husband, the sword-fighting, big game hunting ex-football jock surgeon. He did ballet for three years in high school...supposedly because his aunt was desperate for male dancers and convinced him that it would be a great way to get in shape. I didn't know him back then, but I know the real reason he did it. It was for the babes, pure and simple. He can't fool me. 8)

Damn. Just read that Robert Jordan, author of the Wheel of Time series, passed away yesterday. :(

That's sad, of course... but if he didn't leave story outlines for someone to finish his neverending story I'm gonna sue his estate for pain and suffering. The man should have KNOWN he'd eventually kick the bucket! But no, he was too greedy for more money to write an END to the damned thing. Now I'm really depressed. :?

From the wiki entry:
Final volume

On October 18, 2005, at a book signing in West Chester, Pennsylvania, Jordan gave the working title of the 12th book as A Memory of Light. As one of the attendees told Dragonmount.com, Jordan also warned that the final volume of the saga "could be a 1500-page monster" because he has so many dangling plot threads to wrap up in a single volume. He maintained that A Memory of Light would remain one volume "whether it is 1500 pages long, Tor has to invent a new binding system, or it comes with its own library cart". Due to his health problems, Jordan did not work at full force on the final installment, but blog entries confirmed that he continued work on it until his death, and he shared all of the significant plot details with his family not long before he died.

It hurts, it all hurts.

I think I'm getting too old for all of my activities/exercise. :faint:

Emberchyld current injury count:
1. My newly scarred up chin (from my stitches) hurts every time I forget and bump it with my hand or roll over in my sleep. At least you can't really see it!
2. Pulled something (uhm, the muscle next to the hamstring) in my right leg
3. Pulled muscle in my left hip
4. Blister on my left pinky toe
5. Sore left wrist

And my back huuuuurts. And I'm sore and achey. And sleepy. :faint:

I'm so not stopping yet! So, I guess I must have hit my head harder than I thought when I took out my chin! :?

KTR, my husband hates sports. He has been legally blind since early childhood and was teased as a child about not being able to participate much in sports. But for 29 years he as been a volunteer with the Coast Guard Auxiliary to go out in rough seas on Lake Michigan - some seas 15 - 20 feet high and of short waves, and rescue people. The Great Lakes are a graveyard of ships that pound boats and ships to pieces more than the ocean. I'm not letting Jim turn in his man card and neither should you, just because you go against the majority in the things which interest you. Jim lives a more interesting life than those who sit in front of the TV and follow sporting events.
Working on a major fan fic project. Two-thirds done. Hope to put it up in the not TOO distant future.

He didn't go compete in the National Air-Guitar Championships did he?

Here's my whine: I lost all the running progress I had made over the summer. My mile went from 5:40 to 7:00+ at best, 2-mile from 13:40 to 18:19 :(

I'm thinking of buying a great...big...exercise thing that has bars and such on it for doin pullups at home and all that biz, cuz, ironically, I'm too lazy to drive to the gym to do pullups and my Marine OSO keeps telling me that I can't build pullup strength by doing any lifting, when it comes right down to it, you just gotta do lots and lots and lots and LOTS of pullups :( . I'm destiny-bound for Recon, or so I've told myself 8)
