A bit of status info:

I'm currently finalizing my contribution to the June wordprompt challenge. It started as a little idea and turned out somewhat longer than expected. Anyone up to beta-ing a 30+ page road block

And now for something completely different...

I've noticed that it got quite somewhat for two of my favourite epics, so I'd like to inquire about the status of :

Dinah's "Briar Patch" and
Transwarp's "Convicted"

And now for som... (Oh we had that already, hadn't we )

Anyways, a question for the general public. Is there a "market interest" for story translations? If so I would be offering my services for German and Russian

I don't mind translations if you really want to do them -- just let me know. When I did XF fic that happened fairly often and I got a real kick out of it.

Have you posted any of your own stories in German?

@Alelou, jT: That wasn't a commercial offer. Nobody has to offer anything in return. In fact I enjoy something like translating a good story. I was merely wanted to know, if anyone would read that. I would suspect that not too many in here are German speakers, or are they.

@Alelou - I never published any of my stories in German. I was always unsure of wether there is an audience and writing a good original story in German is very tricky, while translating a good English one is way easier. I know one German story on ff.net and it's mindbogglingly bad as the author failed to create a good atmosphere, which is not too easy in German.

@jT - I could translate a short one of yours for you to see how it turns out, if you like

I've had zero for three days now, which is impossible.

I had a little bet with myself that I could get to a certain number of hits this month and it stopped 50 short. It's almost like it KNEW how unhealthy that is.

Grrr. This time an email didn't fix it.

Sounds like a classical case of buggy software to me as the same was true for me.

Okay, ff.net stats are back up. Was it the second snarky email I sent or is it just back up because it's back up...?

I find it amusing that their home page news for June 11 -- the most recent info -- talks about how they've updated so this won't happen anymore.

So this time when the stats came back they were actually restored retroactively. So I easily won my bet with myself. Yay.

I'm going to be out of touch for awhile (with no computer access) -- so Happy Fourth of July, fellow Americans, and happy first weekend of July to everyone else.

I just got back from traveling up north to Bagram and Camp Phoenix, which was a five day ordeal. I was out of email range most of that time, and unable to get any writing done. I'm just now catching up on the forums.

I have about 6000 words written for chapter 3, with another 4 to 6k to go. In case you haven't noticed, I tend to write V E R Y Sloooooowly. (And I don't even have the excuse other people have of working on multiple projects--'Convicted' is it for me.)

I am still diligently working at it, though, and I appreciate your interest.

Edited: Oh yeah, and I'm back. It was a nice holiday. Now WTF is this heat????? I still had laundry from last week that had polyester FLEECE in it...
