I don't think there is a need for any ass kicking.

Warpgirl, you have no idea what a goood kick in the Ass can accomplish. Makes the one who gets kicked sit up and take notice and the one who does the kicking feel a whole lot better.

OK I'll clarify you don't need to kick mine! And yes I'm indeed aware of the power of a good ass kicking. I'm young not clueless.

Re: "Enterprise: The Romulan War"
Wether or not any of the books authors is lurking or not is irrelevant, because :
a) It doesn't give them talent, of which they could use a good boost.
b) I'm in serious doubt (attention: expression of personal opinon) that TPTB would license any work in which a relationship with T'Pol and Trip would work. They always had Amanda and Sarek as their poster child, a previous interspecies romance would belittle it. Since the books are licensed work, TPTB have influence. I can't see TnT being allowed.

Kotik Transwarp You guys are awesome. Silverbullet the next time you state you're going to join someone in ass kicking it might be a good idea to specify the asses being kicked. That way we innocent bystanders can get out of the way.

Have you read "Romulan War?" They are very much bonded and in love. T'Pol even publicly show affection to Trip (who is still in Vulcan disguise) in front of at least one other Vulcan.

Yeah, there's no gurantee that this will be the "happily ever after" we want but it's very clearly there now.
I started with the ass-kicking reference. Silverbullet was agreeing with me.

I don't think Kotik meant they aren't in love just that he doesn't think they'll be happily ever after.

Re: "Enterprise: The Romulan War"
I'm not here to put anyone down - I think it's fair to criticize the books, if you have read them. There are issues.
However, I do and will continue to appreciate the fact that TnT are in love and that their relationship is a key plot point in the books. And when people seem to get joy out of hating on the show or hating on the books - I'm going to step forward and say I liked the show and liked what the books are trying to do because I feel like when people start to get negative - it begets negative energy. This is no reflection on one person at all (Transwarp, it's lovely that you are okay with me liking the books! I'm cool with you not!)
Chapter 71 in the Romulan War is in fact the best official TnT stuff that I can imagine getting - outside of a happy ending wrap up. I know there are people who fear posting on these boards because they are afraid to admit their like the show or the books - because they will be put down because of it. I'm not saying anyone hasn't a right to criticize anything - I just want to speak up for those who appreciate what Martin did in the books - and say you are not alone. On a fansite like this - people who like the show and books should feel as welcome as those who don't.

Re: "Enterprise: The Romulan War"
Honeybee I do understand where you're coming from. I've admitted several times that I haven't read the books. But that is why I follow this thread, I'm trying to decide whether or not I want to either spend my money on them, or steal my mom's library card. So far I still haven't decided, some things seem cool, other things seem not-so-cool. Maybe as the conversation keep going I'll decide.
I don't think anybody here was trying to put anyone down. But I just have to mention that sometimes it's not so easy here for people like me who love the characters, but did not like the show. Sometimes we don't feel so welcome and accepted ourselves. But I know I want the same thing you do.

Re: "Enterprise: The Romulan War"
Ubergeek alert!!!!
Acording to "The Making of Star Trek: What it is, how it happened and how it works" by Stephen E. Whitfield and Gene Rodenberry, 1968.
pg 224
"Spock is the product of an interplanetary marriage betwee his mother, a native of Earth, and his father, a native of the planet Vulcan. While such marriages are not unknown, they are nonetheless quite rare, as the personalities of Vulcans and Terrans are not normally compatible."
I think we've discussed this before when talking about whether or not Spock was the first human-vulcan hybrid. Somewhere in this book it says that Spock was not, but I don't have time to look for that unless someone wants me to. Also T'Pol says in E2 that "humans and Vulcans have never been able to successfully reproduce, so even at that time there was some level of species-mixing going on.

Re: "Enterprise: The Romulan War"
OK I have to say that line in E2 totally contradicts what she said in one of the Daniels episodes, and surprise surprise they're both official canon. Grrrrrrrr. That is just too annoying. It also doesn't mean TnT get their happily ever after. But hey isn't the fun in the anticipation for when this particular series wraps up.

Re: "Enterprise: The Romulan War"
It's interesting to note that many trek fans freaked out because they truly believed that Spock was the first Vulcan/Human hybrid and E2 and Terra Prime contradicted that. The fact that Spock is the first, in fact, no where in canon - or in any official media. It was, as Aikiweezie helpfully pointed out - always presented as rare but not impossible. I do think that Vulcan/Human relationships were probably rare and difficult - but not impossible.
Sarek/Amanda were obviously a metaphor for interracial relationships - which were totally taboo at the time (despite Kirk/Uhura's famous kiss). And I tend to believe that from the time of First Contact that Vulcan/Human romance must have happened more often that was widely known - just kept secret.
I still hold hope that TnT will be able to have some sort of long-term relationship, even if it is not widely known because he'll just be her peculiar Vulcan husband that acts less Vulcan than she does. Remember, in the books, it's obvious to T'Pol that there's something strange about "Sodek" the moment she sees him. She looks at his body language and realizes that he's not acting like a Vulcan. A few minutes later, she realizes who she's looking at.

I still say that episode with Daniels makes the whole issue annoying. But I never thought Spock was the first.
