Michelle - I think you're right.
Re: How old was baby Elizabeth?
Michelle, that's a great explanation. I'm not sure the writers wrote it that way, but it definitely explains some of the unexplained things in Season 4. Although I didn't hate the episode Home, I always thought it was very strange that Koss or T'Les or the Vulcan priest didn't notice that TnT were bonded and stopped the wedding. It seems like something someone would figure out. Especially, T'Pol.
But if the bond was faint and then was strengthened to what it was in Bound because of Elizabeth - well, that makes it a little more easy to swallow that no one noticed TnT were bonded until Bound.

Bond, Why in Hell did she not know of the bond and its strength (really powerful) when Trip was on the Columbia and she was on entrprise he pops up in her white room. she was at least one light year away. this is apporixmately six Trillion miles. Can you imagine the strength of a bond that can link two minds over that distance? T-Pol certainly would notice that. Instead the writers just has her tell trip to get out. I mean come on. Taint everyday that someone links up with her mind to mind over such a distance. She had to know it was the bond.

I could not figure that out either.

That would certainly be my guess.

Re: How old was baby Elizabeth?
Agreed. We are thinking way more about the bond and how Elizabeth came to be than the writers ever did.

Well, to be fair, we don't have deadlines or bosses, and we only focus on whatever we feel like.

Yeah but don't they have their "bible" to remind them how to keep things organized? ENT was not good at organizing things.

Re: How old was baby Elizabeth?
True enough. Producing a full season of hour long television is a thankless job with many fingers in the pot. Plenty of effort was made. I actually suspect the events of Terra Prime might have happened over several episodes in a fifth season, if it had happened. I like the arc, but it feels rushed.
I know hints had been dropped about interspecies breeding since the first season - and I always thought T'Pol would wind up the mother of the first Vulcan/human hybrid. I imagine that had the show run its full seven years, we might have seen her carry the child rather than what we saw in Terra Prime. That's just my theory, though.

Re: How old was baby Elizabeth?
A continuity board might have help. Also a chaeracter Board where the writers could go to see what had happened to a certain character or what had hapened in previous episodes. Save a lot of head scratching.

Re: How old was baby Elizabeth?
If it was like Voyager, they had fairly slim booklets (writer's guides) with the basic rules about the characters and the technical stuff; these were written when the show was first conceived and I don't know if they got updated regularly. Maybe they also had a continuity guru, but continuity in TV sometimes just means someone's watching the little details from scene to scene, not episode to episode. I think especially if it was new and unexplored territory, like the bond, and especially near the end of a show that's been canceled, they probably would have just tried to figure it out together as best they could in the time allowed.

Re: How old was baby Elizabeth?
I thought VOY did great with continutiy and character development intil the last 2 seasons, but that's just me. ENT always felt choppy and patched together to me. More like the writing staff just did what they thought was cool, and not what actually made a lot of sense. Maybe the studio wanted it that way. IDK. But it never felt cohesive as a whole. Maybe we should go back OT...

Re: How old was baby Elizabeth?
I don't know. Many shows seem to have great continuity. a continuity board and Character board would seem to me to be essential.
I sometimes see and I know that others watch out for lack of continuity in films concerning places of actors in a scene or costumes. In one scene an actor is sitting on one side of a tablle. a shot of another actor in that scene and back to the first one who is now on the other side of the table. Or a pin being worn in the scene, cut away to another actor, back to the first and no pin. That is why there are people on a film whose job is watching out for just those things. When they louse up it can be noticeable.
If a character is married in one Episode and hates the person he/she is married to in the next episode without explanation that is lack of Contiuity being ovserved.
Ent was sloppy. One never really knew what was going on.

Re: How old was baby Elizabeth?
You know I was thinking about just how the Terra Prime doctors created Elizabeth and frankly whoever came up with the idea of the term "Binary Clone" is a complete and utter moron. It makes less sense than Sim. So here's a nutty idea probably as eaqually impossible, but it sounds like it makes sense, which Binary Clone doesn't even attempt to do...
When they say Phlox kept DNA on hand of every crewmember they weren't really specific as to what the samples were. So how about a tiny tissue samples? I seem to remember that medical science is working on ways to use tissue samples to grow organs. I'm not sure if the tissue of the organ you're trying to grow is needed. So for this example why don't we just say 200 years from now they can take any tissue and make it into what they want. Mainly a Vulcan ova and human sperm, so they create those, and start trying to make a baby.
Like I said it's a nutty idea, completely impossible, but it sounds like it makes sense. And it's sci-fi if people can turn into lizards I think it's rather tame.
