Re: Randomness
In case anyone likes my reviews, I've begun putting up my Farscape mini-reviews that we do over at Brunette Jolene on my website. I'm currently up to the middle of season one.
She's got an awfully nice bum!

Re: Randomness
I'm putting together a CD or two to play at our library fair this coming weekend, and I'm wondering if anyone can suggest any lively songs that allude in some way to libraries, reading, or writing?
So far I have Jimmy Buffet's "Love in the Library" and "Unwritten" by Natasha Bedingfield and "Telling Stories" by Tracie Chapman, though that one has volume issues so it will probably come out.
Otherwise it's just happy lively music. Think something that plays for young kids cavorting in a Boucey Bounce while their parents wander around.
And yeah, I know. People don't write a lot of music about libraries and definitely not a lot of music FOR libraries. LOL.

Re: Randomness
I'm back from PSG in th Ozark region of Missouri. Our family vendor tent sold a couple hundred dollars of straw weavings and dream catchers. But we left two days early as the weather just about did us in. First a heavy wind and rain blew the top off our vendor tent and some of our goods got wet. One woman who camped near the river got her tent with all its contents washed away - including her car keys. Then it was beastly hot and humid the rest of the time. Image checked a thermometer outside another tent and it was 109 degrees at one point! No wonder I felt like an old lady who couldn't walk more than a half dozen steps without sitting down!
The humidity was the real killer though. It wore us down to nothing. The day we left, we packed for ten minutes, rested for fifteen minutes, then repeated the cycle. I didn't go to half the workshops I wanted to. Spent a lot of time just laying in the cold water of a river that ran through the campground. Image and Dylan (the teenagers) went out in the sun a lot and Image's shoulders literally turned black. And for the first time in her life, she got a touch of sunburn.
They had vendor row in an open space with no trees and the ground was mostly gravel and rocks. Under the trees where some smart people camped, it was twenty degees cooler. We camped directly behind our vendor tent to keep watch on the goods.
Okay, the camp was 500 miles south of where we live, so we knew it would be warmer. But not THAT hot. It is good to be back in Wisconsin, us wimpy northerners who can't stand heat and humidity.

Ah, so I guess they were just "pulling my leg" when they told me it was just a normal mild spring day in Missouri.

Re: Randomness
Eh Eh, I think so.
Welcome back, Linda.

Welcome back, Linda.

Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four
And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

Re: Randomness
Life is a cruel bitch sometimes. I've just dreamt up (literally) an idea for a story (not ENT, just a story) that I'd like to write, but I lack the skill needed. I can't really remember how it was supposed to start, but basically it ends up with two people (in my dream they were a couple) going to a historical city, where 8 sisters had supposedly lived. I saw them as nuns, each representing a quality such as grace, forgiveness etc etc. Anyway, an undetermined number of years before the story, these nuns were brutally murdered, a few years later the city was turned into a museum of sorts. No one knows what happened to their bodies. The couple start poking around, and eventually start talking to a Holographic tour guide, who is meant to be a likeness of one of the sisters. At first she seems to know nothing (being a computer and all) but then enters a trance like state and begins to mutter away to herself, casting images into the couple's heads. One is of a burning pier in the rain. In the end, she asks the couple if they really want to find the sisters (and whatever it is that they had that the couple need, I can't remember what) and wether they are willing to face the consequences of what they seek. After the couple say yes, they are shown a quick flash of a building on the old side of town, and the hologram goes back to her original program. They eventually get to the building, which is filled with the memories of the sisters and has been untouched for years. They break in, and start to move through the huge building but as they do so, the woman gets haunted by horrific images from area, about 8 in total, which reveal information about how the sisters died, but also guide the couple through the maze of piled high objects and small spaces until they find a tunnel deep under the building, which leads them to the pier that they saw while talking to the guide, obviously no longer on fire, but draped with the corpses of the sisters. They find whatever it was that they were after and head back, but the memories of the building "posses" them both, and try to make them turn back.
I don't really remember what happens after that, and my description is pretty shoddy, but it was a weirdly vivid dream.
In happier news, I now have a new niece!

Michael Jackson died today too. It almost seems like celebrities pass away two at a time. Weird.

See, Trip honey, being a good sanitation engineer in space can be damned important!
It's quite sad that we're losing the toilet race in space.

Is there still a "race?" Unless two astronauts have to use the facilities at the same time.
