She said herself that she was in Intelligence. In the seventh she had to finish a job that she haed failed to do whch caused her to leave Intelligence. She had her mind wiped too.

She might have met a man under her command for a short while in intelligence but that would have benn on a covert operaton. diferent from commanding a Space ship.

She may have received some command training but unless she put that training to use she would have fogotten it and been at a loss how to use it when needed.

So, she spent her adult life in the VHC. she could have been a file cllerk for all that matters. It does not mean that she comanded a space ship or even served on one.

Warpgirl, do you think that eveyone in the US military during wartime sees combat? about one in one huundred do. the rest are backup for the combat troops providing supplies, tansportation, everythig to support the combat troops. Even in the field there are more support types than actual combat troops.

so in the VHC t-Pol could have served her entire life and not seen the inside of a space ship.

If I remember correctly, she said that she had only served on the Shelya and then only for a year as Intelligenxce Officer.

EVen in inelligence she could have been a typist given that.

One of the bravest woman I have ever met was a spook. You would never know it from looking at her. she was a mousy little thing one that you would not give a second glance to. She did field work on occasion but much preferred to be an analyist. She might have done only that in her entire career but stilll would be known as a Spook.

so, T-Pol in the VHC. It didn't mean that she had commmand expeirence just some training in it. Doesn't mean that she spent her entire career on sspace ships either.

A. I know a lot about the military, half of my family joined up at one point or another. I know if you're an Officer you get command training. I know if you have sabordinants working under you they are under your command.

B. By your reasoning T'Pol can't serve as chief Science Officer, because she would be in COMMAND of an entire department. Actually the largest after Engineering. So if she has no experience she has no right to do that.

C. She says she's served on many ships. And she was on the Seleya as a SCIENCE OFFICER. Not a spook.

I think she mentions that she's been in space for over three deacdes in First Flight and other episodes. And yes we're watching the same series, I told you I have a scary good memory.

She also tells them she's been to 38 planets or something like that in "Strange New World." That doesn't sound like a typist or an analyst to me.

Phlox says he was on over 100 planets but he isn't a space ship jockey he is a doctor.

Reed says he has been on 30 some planets and he is a security officer.

so t-Pol could have een on many planets but dooesn't mean she served on lots of space ships. she could have been on them in her capacity as a intellligence agent.

In first flight there is no mention of t-Pol being on space ships.

You are right that she was the assistat Science Officer on the sheylaya.

It is intersting though that the vulcans were interested in the Trellium Ore. so they knew about Trelium the crew just didn't recognize that the ore was TrelliumD

It's a new mineral, and they need protection from the anomalies. They obviously were too far gone, before they discovered it was toxic, or they never did find out.

And T'Pol had command training she's an OFFICER. You can't be an officer WITHOUT command training and EXPERIENCE! It's NOT possible. Period.

You were in the Air Force correct? You know this. My grandparents were never officers, so they never had command training.

But you need command training and experience to be an officer. Even in the VHC and Starfleet. There's a reason there are "crewmen."
