Re: The Upsetting News Thread
Wow, since he goes in the tub, he's in the bathroom. Some people have trained their pets to use the toilet. I never managed to figure out how to do that with any of my pets. Is there a litterbox trained pet that someone you know would let you borrow for a few days to show your pet the drill? Just a thought.

Working on a major fan fic project. Two-thirds done. Hope to put it up in the not TOO distant future.

We have a second cat who uses a litter box but it's downstairs and we don't want Sonic going down there. In fact, I know now he can't. I was standing at the door talking to the neighbor when Sonic heard us and approached - just as I was telling him about how he was blind - and took a step off the first step and almost fell. He really just sorta was startled and was fine, though.

Poor Kitty! It is a challenge to try to give disabled pets a quality life, isn't it? My elderly rabbit has arthritis and we have had to use s boot tray for a litter box so she can have easy access. She will be on anti-inflamatory meds for the rest of her life.

Re: The Upsetting News Thread
My cousin, who was recovering from her last semi-emergency surgery, had to have emergency surgery today because her body produced a super-rare response to the last surgery.
Apparently in 10,000 surgeries the surgeon hasn't seen anything like it. And I want to be home but instead am over 2 hours away, slightly freaking out about tomorrow's exam and Thursday's initial draft of a paper.

Holy crap!! I'm so sorry to hear all this, JzK. Family troubles AND exams--that's so unfair.
Hang in there, we're pulling for you--and your cousin.

Don't hesitate to beg for an extension. I'll bet the prof will believe you are telling the truth.
Good luck to your cousin.

I will be thinking of you, JK, and hoping for the best. JT is right, I'll bet you could get an extension or even an incomplete in the course if necessary. Family comes first!

Re: The Upsetting News Thread
Family comes first! Yes,Linda. You're wise.
Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four
And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

Best wishes for your cousing, JadziaKathryn. And don't feel guilty or bad, it's not your fault; sometimes (more times than we wanted) these things happen.

Absolutely, this is the exactly what extensions are legitimately for.

Re: The Upsetting News Thread
Thanks, everyone! I feel good about today's test and my paper, while perhaps a bit more 'rough' than the the professor might like, is sort of done. The worst thing is that, even if I went home, there's not much I could do, but I still want to be there. Oi.

There has been a big earthquake in Italy, near Rome! I hope Asso doesn't live near and he's ok. Unfortunately there have been fatalities and an old and beautiful city suffered a lot of destruction...

Re: The Upsetting News Thread
Thanks, AnaM, for your care. I'm ok, I and my family live in Piedmont, but the news are bad.
It seems that a lot of people died, and the list is provisional. Mainly the earthquake struck L'Aquila, capital city of the Abruzzo region and of the Province of L'Aquila, a very old city, rich in many architectural treasures, for example the "Fountain of the 99 Spouts".

But we're waiting for news about people and about the whole country.
