I read Stranger in a Strange Land so long ago, I remember very little of it. Age takes its toll for sure! Lately, I have come across many references to that book, so I suppose it's time to reread it, LOL.

OMG! This is HUGE! This means terraforming is actually possible if we can erect domes to get a greenhouse effect and heat/melt the water, keep all the water from evaporating, and then add enough organic nutrients to the soil for crops to grow. Unbelievable!

Maybe it's just me, but all terraforming this sounds awfully expensive. You'd have to get a bunch of billionaires on board to finance it, because I can't see a large-scale operation like this getting paid for otherwise.

Then there's the pesky year-long trip...

I see it getting financed when the caps melt and 85% of the population centers find themselves under 75 ft of water and/or without breathable air and/or without sunlight after a mile-wide meteor impact and/or after the supercaldera of Yellowstone erupts and/or after all electronic devices are made useless when the magnetic poles reverse . When TSHF (ask if u don't know this acronym), you'll see some stuff get done real quick. Soon as the survival of the superrich is at risk, we'll have a Mars colony in a couple weeks.

I say get the damn thing terraformed ( dont expect to grow any high yields of any crops out on that Rock.) Get some sort of Atmosphere on that rock, an start packin the excess people up there. An give all the once good farm land back to farmers here on Earth. We'll keep ya fed, once we get yer bums off the good dirt.

Never owned a gas guzzling SUV. Not attracted by any of these huge incentives. Wouldn't take one if it was given to me free. Free? Well...maybe. Then I'd try to sell it for a fraction of its worth and put more money into my boat.

Well personaly I dread having to pull out the ever increasing Number of those lil Fuel saving 4 cylinder, front Wheel drive POS cars come this winter.

Atleast most of the Time those Fuel suckin SUVs, could get them selves unstuck out of a Snow bank. If they some how do manage to get stuck. While those dang lil Front wheel drives seem to be drawn to the Damn things Like a Magnet. Oh well! More fuel for me to waste.

Not to mention I worry bout ripping those things in half since their frames look so weak. If you can call that a frame.

Also come to think of it, If I ever do see an SUV stuck, Its one of those scrawny lil Half baked Econmey SUVs.
