I have used Firefox for years and even customized it to my needs and never had any problems with it.

Re: The Whine thread.
Crap! I was just trying to copy the first six episodes of Heroes from my DVR Harddrive onto discs only to find out that the recordings I've made from TV aren't "V-mode compatible" whatever the frak that means!
It turns out that some channels have some special setting that you have to uncheck on your DVR Player if you want to be able to copy it later onto DVD-R discs!
AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRGH!
Now why wasn't I informed of that. I've had my machine since December and no other channel has this stupid whatever the frell it is that messes with my copying! I can watch the episodes just fine from my DVD HDD, I just cannot copy them from it!

AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRGH!

Maybe it's possible to copy them to PC.

I went grocery shopping with a friend today. The bags were both very heavy, so I left one downstairs while I took the first one up. As she was driving away, my friend ran over my groceries. Tomatoes, avocados, peppers, celery...she made salsa in the parking lot.

It's flavored with passionfruit
an appropriate ingredient, don't you think?

I have no idea. I have never hooked up my DVr or TV set to my computer. At any rate I wanted the episodes saved on DVD-R discs, not on my computer.
Guess I'll have to wait for the inevitable reruns!

Re: The Whine thread.
Still have to pack properly
... Friday I just threw EVERYTHING into a suitcase and multiple bags and today it all has to fit in one bag, one duffel, and maybe 2 carry-ons.
How does one pack for two countries with varying "fall" weather ranging from 80 degrees to 30 and rainy? *sigh* Lots and lots of layering clothes. Not to mention that I'm normally the queen of travel packing, but I'm thrown by vacation clothes versus work-appropriate clothes and shoes... I'm going to have to Fed-ex some clothes back from the office next week so that I don't have to lug them on vacation (imagine the description? "Dirty clothes". Customs will love that) Plus, I won't know until wednesday or thursday if I have to return to our european office from my vacation-- it's a pretty strong possibility now.
Can;t wait to get on a flight tonight, then after 8 hrs and a connection, to hop off the plane, get to the office, and hit the ground running for half a day... with lots and lots of espresso.

I does, but the episodes aren't on my PC. They're on my DVR.

DVRs should usually have a LAN port take a LAN cable and connect it with your PC for starters.

Mine doesn't. I had to pull it bits to get the videos off it. Decided it was too much trouble in the end. Building kernel drivers for obscure filesystems is a pain in the ass.

Re: The Whine thread.
Well, the question is moot now anyway, since I've deleted those episodes from my DVR (I needed the harddrive space). I won't be having this particular problem in the future since I've changed the settings on my DVR so that everything that I record will be "V-Mode Compatible".

Re: The Whine thread.
Jet... lag... is starting to just slightly kick in.
Food has been a challenge today with all of the travelling/work stuff. Breakfast on plane: Yogurt with granola and fruit.
Snack in Barcelona airport: KitKat from vending machine, Fiber One bar from purse
Flight to France: these little fennel crisp things mmmmmm
Lunch: Uhm... bought a box of cookies (Le Petit Ecolier rip-offs, for those who know their cookies) and a pear at a market on the way to the office. Had nothing to wash the pear with, so ate four cookies.
Rest of day: 3 mini hot chocolates and 2 mini cappucinos from the coffee machine in the office
Dinner: 3/4 small roll of bread, 1 straciatella yogurt sucked down because I forgot to get a spoon at the market, and the pear. Since I got out of work late and spent an hour getting myself a mobile phone, I just went to the market next to the phone store for food.
I'm so carb-ed out, it's not even funny. Why is it that every other coworker I know comes here and gets taken out every night by a different group and I come here and it's, like, "Oh, you have a car? You can understand French? Okay, see you tommorrow." Am I not helpless American enough?
Plus, I got to work out my Spanish while arguing with security in Barcelona. I ended up losing and had to go back to the counter and check a tiny little bag with a harmless instrument.
Oh, and my new cell? It'll let me call the US, but somehow I can't call my parents in Portugal. I can't figure it out... helps that all of the instructions are in French... (the purchasing was comical, since I can only speak a spattering of French and the guy could only speak a spattering of English, but we understood each other's languages. what a mess)
