NO! But actually it's funny, blue and brown eyes are both dominent in my family. So we also get a lot of hazle. BUT there have been a lot of blue eyes running around, even when for all intents and purposes people should have brown. I wasn't lucky though.
Some of these people haven't taken their medication. Let's see what happens now...

Since the gene for brown eyes is dominant over blue and green, if you have blue or green eyes anywhere in your ancestry on both sides (it's gotta be on BOTH sides) it's possible for you to have blue or green eyes even if both of your parents have brown eyes. It's Mendelian genetics. If a kid with two brown eyed parents has blue eyes then both of the parents have one gene for blue eyes and one for brown. I'm pretty sure hazel eyes are caused by a crossover between the genes but I'm not entirely certain.

Well that's what I mean, on both sides of my family there are numerous pairs, where one parent has blue eyes the other brown. So there kids get luck of the draw or hazle. Like with my mother, her father had two different colored eyes, one hazel, one brown. Her mom has blue-grey eyes. So the kids got a lot of ranges of eye colors. On my father's side, his father has Hazel, his mother has brown. But both my maternal and paternal grandparents had lots of people in their families with blue eyes too on both sides. So my father's side has tons of blue eyes. So while individually my "blue-eye" gene is recessive, as an entire family BOTH sides, brown eyes and blue eyes are dominent traits. Of course my sister has Hazel but most of the time they're green.
