Well, just to lift a little the spirits (always granted I do not sin of immodesty)...

I have posted another chapter of "The Empire's Destiny" on Fanfiction. Net
Lords and Masters. And Ladies and Mistresses
It is the thirtieth, and, I am persuaded, perfect for Valentine's Day.

I think there are some stories in the queue (I know my chapter 10 is there) but that pesky thing called 'Reel Life' seems to be intervening with getting them posted.

This site needs an involved admin or two. (Sorry, but that wouldn't be me.)

I just popped in because I just caught up on The Big Bang Theory's tribute to fanfic from 2/5. It's not ST fanfic, and it's a terrible Lt. Mary Sue, but I thought they had fairly respectful fun with it. I laughed very hard. You might enjoy it, too.

Between that and the other plot with a troll, somebody on the writing staff clearly knows their way around life online.

Just FYI -- my second novel THE RIBS AND THIGH BONES OF DESIRE is FREE through 2/23 on Kindle around the world. A teenage girl and the widower across the street help each other grow up the hard way.

If you like it, please leave a review!!! Feel free to share the news. The more downloads, the better... so please feel free to "buy" it even if you have no intention of reading it. That would still help me out.

Thanks, Alelou. I just downloaded it. I've been buying books faster than I've been reading them, so it may take me a while to read and review.

It has been an interesting couple of days writing-wise. Last week the hospital where I work told us that we would have an active shooter drill this week. I wasn't looking forward to it. They did it yesterday morning. I didn't have a patient in my office at the time so I had to spend 15 minutes by myself sitting in the dark trying to be as quiet as possible. I'm currently working on a story in which Trip has to stay still and quiet in the dark to avoid capture. I got a better understanding of that scene while I was sitting in the dark. Fortunately my office is much more comfortable than where Trip is stuck.

Between the snow and ice and being on crutches for a few more weeks, I'm pretty much stuck in the house when I'm not at work. I decided to use some of that time to take a couple of online writing classes. One is on worldbuilding. I did my first assignment last night and this morning. It was a scene incorporating some advanced technology I created for the story. I was surprised how quickly it went. It felt really nice to get something completed and submitted. Now I just need to do that with my story!

Thanks, Cap'n Frances. I can't even imagine getting around in this weather on crutches. Wishing you a fast recovery to full ambulation, and good luck with your stuck Trip.

I wrote a blog post about it. Spock was an inspiration for me!
