You know, my wife complained that the weather in the SF Bay Area was always the same and that she missed having "four seasons." I remind her of this every winter in Tokyo when it starts snowing.

Hang in there WG!

It is a bloody MESS! Most of DC is shut down so the power companies are focusing there. We can only run a few things at a time with the generator so I-net time is miniscule. On the other hand my nephews are with me until my poor brother and sister get power back. But one 2yr old and one 2 month old are very exhausting.

Power has finally returned. My babies go home tonight but there will be more peace and showers! Running water is a beautiful thing!

Anyone here play Arkham Asylum? It might be taking over my life. Come to think of it, is anyone else rediculously excited that the long torturous wait for The Dark Knight Rises is so close to being over?

Sorry. Online videogames are black holes into which one pours precious spare time that can never be recovered. ;-)

Actually, it's not an online game. It's just a regular video game that I'm playing on my XBOX 360. Now for something that creeped me out, on Challenge mode you can share your scores with people on Xbox live. Guess what name I saw on the top of every one? Cogito2! Now I'm not saying this is our Cogito but I did do a double-take.

If it is him, you've got tp help me buddy these Riddler trophies are making me crazy!

Sorry, WarpGirl, not me. I don't have an XBOX, and I wouldn't have time to play it if I had one. :( Maybe I should have followed Jane's advice? :guffaw:

I bought a new car - well, new to me, it's a used one - this weekend. A Ford Mondeo, which I think was called Contour in the U.S.

Yay for new old cars! Did you get an air freshener so it would have that "new car smell"?

I've always loved those! My favorite is the mobile home.

I've gotten a new 42" flat screen TV and a blu-ray player. The downside is that now you can tell that some of your DVDs (which of course are playable on the BD-player) aren't the best quality. Maybe I'm sitting too close? The same goes for some of the cable channels I have. Oh well... But I won't replace my extensive DVD collection, but I will be buying blu-ray discs from now on.

But I managed to hack the BD-player so it's region free, at least for DVDs, which is good since I have some DVDs from the U.S. and Australia which I haven't been able so see since the old DVD player broke. So yay to that!
