Two whines in one day, there is something wrong with that. I am going to stop buying bread, I don't eat enough of it to be a good idea. I feel so guilty for making one or two sandwiches and throwing the rest away. I'm afraid other things have gone bad too.

If you don't mind toast, bread freezes pretty well for a month or two. Just pull out the slices as you need them; no need to thaw first. They take a little longer in the toaster, like frozen waffles.

and then there's always the cute mini-loafs they have. You know, the ones made like they sell overseas. Then you can like, oh, 8 mini-sandwiches with the same amount of bread and use up the whole loaf....

wow. tired. not sure that sentance made any sense at all.

I have a psychological aversion to toast, hospitals (at least in VA) serve toast breakfast lunch and dinner. YUCK! No toast. I'll start splitting loaves with my sister. Her husband's work hours were cut, because IDK they do that to men with 6mo old infants and wives with health problems. Man I am on a roll now...

Oh one more whine Rick Sanchez from CNN I loved watching him, turns out he's not so great. BUMMER!

You can also just freeze half a loaf and then defrost it and use it.

You'd want to do this before any ice crystals have a chance to build up in there, though. Or wrap it nice and tight to avoid that happening.

If bread gets old, you can dip a slice of bread in a mixture of egg, milk and cinnamon and fry it in a pan like a pancake. With some sugar, it tastes very good.

That's french toast my favorite! But my bread gets moldy very fast. Don't really know why I keep it locked up in the microwave, air tight. It shouldn't go bad so fast.

WG, try wrapping it in Foil and putting it in the freezer. You can then take out what you need, re wrap it and put it back in to the freezer where it will keep

Microwaves are not really good places to store bread - you better could store your bread in a wooden or plastic box with a lit or take it out from the freezer like has been suggested.

For 20 years I've been told keep the bread in the microwave. I should yell at mom and grammy tonight!

You do have the bread in a plastic bag, don't you? It should be just fine sitting on the counter, frankly.

I find there's a big difference in how fast some breads mold. The natural organic stuff molds if I look at it funny. The more commercial preserved stuff takes a week or so. And a lot depends on how hot your kitchen is. If your microwave is above your stove and getting hot, or if you've just been cooking a lot of moist stuff in it and then put the bread in, that could explain the issue you're having. Mold likes heat and moisture.

IDK I'll figure it out the next time I go shopping. But I cannot keep wasting the food stamps on it. I hate being on food stamps as it is. It's my only option if I want to live alone. (which at this point I can't bear the thought of not) But to tell the truth they give me too much for food, and not enough SSI for bills. It makes no sense!

So, you know how facebook as all those adverts on the side of the screen? They usually follow a strange pattern for me, cycling between adverts for dating websites, adverts for dating websites for single parents, and adverts for online colleges. I'm not sure why it follows this pattern, as I've no interest in either dating websites or online colleges and, most especially am not a single parent, but that's it's pattern.

But now.... now it's added a new one to the cycle: alcohol posioning rehabilitation.

Why, I ask. Why?

Sometimes ad sidebars crack me up, particularly FF.net. But the truth is, I think they're completely random.
