So, this afternoon, I've been testing out my new Sketchers Shape-Ups. These are walking shoes that are supposed to tone one's legs and rear-end - plus help one's posture and burn more calories. After a few hours, I can say that they do help your posture, and probably add about two inches to your height. They also do feel like they are making your legs work more.

I'll get back to everyone in a week or so about the whole toning thing.

I've been thinking about trying a pair of those not-really-shoes toe things for running in. Has anybody tried those?

All right, folks! In six hours I'll be on my way to Florida.

At the last minute as I was packing I noticed that I can't bring my laptop with me. The "universal socket" I have won't work with the power cord/AC adapter because of some damn plastic pins that are in the way. It will work with the chargers to my cell phone and razor though. This might be an easy fix, like maybe getting some U.S cord while in the U.S., but I won't drag the laptop halfway across the world in the off chance it might be fixable.

I guess I'll back some additional literature instead...

I just saw live the Space Shuttle Atlantis launch on Tv.It was a beautiful day for a launch.It seems strange this will be one of the very last Space shuttle launches ever. I'll be interested to find out what Kevin says about seeing his first shuttle launch.There were over 40,000 people who came to watch the launch today.

I just watched The Hurt Locker with my son. I was happy to inform him that the beating-each-other-up-to-relieve-stress-and-have-a-good-time-and-do-the-manly-bonding-thing scene is indicative of real life in a combat post, based on what I've heard and read elsewhere. Maybe it'll make him think twice about his future career...

I never saw a launch, but when I was in junior high my family lived in Miami. My dad would get me up early and we would sit in the backyard because we could see the shuttle very clearly and beautifully go overhead when it launched. It really was beautiful.
