Aikiweezie, Would giving your husband an anniversary card saying you love him and would like to mark your milestone (your 20th anniversary) with at least just this card - would that be a gentle hint that he should at least respond in kind? Maybe put in the card that it is a shame that he is busy on the day of your anniversary, but you two could have a dinner or share a bottle of wine just to quietly celebrate when you both have a little free time.

Linda - last night ended with a big fight continuing into today. Now we're not talking. There a bunch of things going on, not just me feeling bad about the anniversary thing. Thanks for your concern.

Good luck. Sounds like you guys could benefit from some time with a neutral party to help you communicate. I don't think I'd still be married if we hadn't turned to that now and then ourselves.

Alelou - we did couples therapy, two times. Can't do counseling now any way. No time and no money. And he's never agree to it. Our worst disagreements currently are over money and priorities. We are clearly not on the same page right now. If it gets worse I'll suggest it, but right now I just need to try and stop feeling sorry for myself. My brooding is what led to the blow up - maybe I'll be a Stepford Wife for Halloween

I know how life can get stressful, like with the car breakdowns and new car shopping I just went through. But I got through that and you will get through this rough time too, even if it seems like it is an endless problem when you are in the middle of it.

My great grandmother died today. Big shock, but she was very old. I can't say I've lost somebody close to me, she despised me and my sister. Well she did. Anyway I feel bad for my grandmother, and she did teach me how to make pasta from scratch.

Nowadays I try to look on some of these crossed signals that used to really pain me as the running jokes of our marriage. Life's just too short for brooding about things that come down to two people who just have two very different natures.

Alelou, that's a good way to look at it. Husband came home a little early (before he left again for band practice), and even though we didn't say aything about what's peeving us, we made up. What you said about different natures is true, so true. Same for very different backgrounds, sometimes you just need to recognize stuff and let it go.

Sorry about great-grandma WarpGirl. Never easy to have a death in the family.

However, that is not considered a good thing in this household. I think my husband delights in any Yankees loss as much as in any Mets win.

Well Um I hope your husband doesn't get too mad then cause they WON! OK I do have another teeny tiny whine... Why do the Philly's have three of the best lookin men I have ever seen on their team! NOT FAIR! I am not one of those girls who swoon over A-Rod and Jeeter, (although Jeter is good-looking and very nice) I know cause dad worked for him. Anyway Three amazingly great looking men and they play for the wrong team Sad!

I had a lot more interest in watching Mets games when Sean Green was playing for them. I called him "Pretty Boy."

It does help when they're HOT! My mom watches football, and I'm less annoying about it when I can look at Tom Brady. But as a person he's creepy. Still it's hard to watch my team work when I'm ogling the Philly's pitcher, or Utly their batter, and another one I keep forgetting the name of. And the absolute WORST part is these three guys are AMAZING ball players! Philly wouldn't even be there if it wasn't for them! I'm like wanting the Yanks to snatch them up, and get rid of the few "average" guys they've got. But they are just so It's irritating. This is supposed to be about the GAME, not lust.
