A screen that size is useful for displaying a lot more information at once like engineering specs or just watching movies or surfing the net.

PIcs don't bother me. Remember I posted up a rather large Austrailian spider at one time. :raspberry:

Heh. I'm a practical to minimalistic person so to me like watching videos and stuff it doesn't really matter if it's like a huge theater screen or 320x240 pixels :? :?

Heh heh, I can beat that. A couple of years ago, I had the privillage of running a computer through a DLP cinema projector! I.e. One of these. I dunno how big the screen at your cinema is, but the one I tried it on was massive. (bigger than 40ft diagonal)

BOH!!!

And as for disk space, try a dual channel SCSI ultra3 RAID controller (raid 0, total 15 devices per card, 4 cards max) with 500GB drives! That'd empty anyone's bank account. I wish I had one.

You could make an annonymous call to the cops to let them know someone is using an illegal substance. ;)

If the cops show up here I'll so get kicked out, the manager really doesn't like cops showing up it's like bad reputation for the business, and we already had like enough cops just recently because of the physical fight between my friend and Hamster (and Hamster finally got kicked out now) plus I already complained to the office about her smoking in the bathroom if the cops show up because of that they'll know it's me, well and also wouldn't be a smart thing to tip the police about like illegal substances HERE because if they do show up here they're probably gonna arrest like 95% of the people (and 95% of the profits) well and that's DEFINITELY not good for the business.

I have no use for RAID I just need storage space for tv series and movies. Around 70% of the stuff on my HDD-s is scifi :D. All that I need now is a new graphics card,a more powerful PSU, at least 1GB more RAM,one more HDD with external box and a UPS. The new graphics card and RAM would help me push the max out of my mostly 4 year old PC. At the moment I can't use the new monitor above 1600x1200 because my FX5600 doesn't support a higher resolution :( .Also it can't run videos on full screen properly. I'm thinking of buying a Sapphire RADEON X1950 PRO 512MB AGP because it's the most powerful graphics card I know of that my PC can handle.

Ahh, but with RAID level 0, you get same amount of storage as you would get from them without RAID, but at much, much faster access speeds.

EDIT: Before you splash out on a new GPU, check your drivers. I've just read that the FX5600 can do upto 2048x1536@85hz?!?

Speed isn't that important to me and anyway I don't have the space to mount more HDDs in my midi-tower. I may get RAID when I will put together a new PC in the future but not now.

yeah, the setup I described would need to be rackmount. 60 drives (and associated power systems) would take up a lotta space. Oh, and it would cost upwards of $20,000.

Personally I find Firewire and USB hard drives slow and unresponsive, so I'd use SCSI external enclosures. But each to his/her own.

I'm not trying to build a library :D . Although 60 1TB drives would sound nice. I can just imagine the electricity bill.

thats half TB, actually. But thats still 30TB. Never mind the electricity bill, how would you ever get any sleep with one of those running?
