Sounds to me like some separation distress or an upset from his usual routine. I doubt it's uncommon in the first weeks of school. Try offering him extra support when he comes home from school. Maybe remind him that you are still here for him and that it is okay for him to miss you while he's at school. Spend some extra time with him at night and offer lots of reassurance. It's a hard adjustment being away from a parent when you're a little guy. Good luck.

Thanks, Bether. I've been home with Steven since the beginning so he's used to being with me most of the time. He went to pre-school for 2-1/2 years, and he LOVED it, made some great friends, etc., but he cried the whole first week there, too. He only went three days a week, though, so the schedule is a little different, and this is a new school. He just asked me a little while ago if he could stay home tomorrow and have eggs for breakfast (usually our Sunday breakfast). I'm sure he'll get over it, but I hate to see him in distress.

The cat has brought fleas into the house. They're everywhere. I'm serious. In the carpets and alsorts. Haven't had time to get the treatment yet, so I'm having to put up with. If I get *armslap* bitten by another one of these bastards, I'm going to go insane.

Oh I've been there. But I love her so much I can't be mad.

Ugh that's miserable. Traps and meds on the cat and then washing every single thing in the house... gah. (And mine was an inside cat who got fleas at the groomers the one time we brought her.) Good luck with all that.

My beautiful little Kitty was a stray so we've been battling this for about 9 months now but it's finally turning out well. But like I said I can't get mad, she's just way too precious.

At the moment I'm tempted just to burn the house down and start again. Today I caught the little swine trying to eat some meat I had just finished browning while I went to the bathroom. I thought a pet was supposed a friendly companion, not a bloody snake in the grass. :bitch:

Awe :guffaw: You're kitty sounds very naughty. You know I spray bottle of water is a great deterrent. Just spray the little bugger when he/she goes somewhere or does something naughty. They get the point pretty quickly.

I know, I know. It's catching him thats the trick. I swear he hears/smells me coming and acts all innocent like when I'm around.

Well that's part of the fun. Really it's worth it, trust me. Especially when humans are driving you insane and Kitty graciously lets you cuddle.

Cuddle? Ha, yeah, that'll be the day. I like my fingers the length they are. He's quite independant. Has even learnt how to open his own food now, as well as the catnip packet I didn't know we had. It made my day to come downstairs in the morning a few days ago and find him lying on his back stoned out of his mind in the hall.

Oh that's perfect! You know mine won't touch the stuff, she likes to be a sober kitty. I think it's because she's a jumper. Did you get a picture of that?

Nup, my other half had the SLR that day and my phone was dead. Such a shame. Oh well, I couldn't have taken a decent photo anyway, shaking so hard from laughing.

I wonder if feral cats are less impressed by catnip? Feral kitty outside couldn't care less about it. Indoor cat Ricardo will beg for it.
