So in the absence of much stuff to do on the net this evening, I'm gonna go upstairs and watch the Johnny Cash stuff I recorded off Biography Channel last night.

I think this is the first day ever this site has been underactive. At least since I joined. My parents are home, YEY I missed my mama.

We've had a real heat wave in the past two weeks or so, but starting today it looks like it's getting colder again, which is fine by me. It was starting to get insufferable, especially when trying to sleep at night. At least the AC at work is good.

But today we had a minor thunder shower and after that the temp dropped. And the weather forecast for next week promises more normal summer temperatures.

We're getting to reasonable summer weather, only it's been cool and rainy for us. When I got out of work today the sun was out, and the whole, "So that's what the sun and blue sky look like" was sadly only half a joke.

Will make an effort to send further rain to Sweden to cool you down.

I only met him once, so no condolences are required, but I thought I would mention that my Great Uncle Waldo McBurney died today just 2 months short of his 107th birthday. (My grandfather's brother.) This is the uncle who took up marathon running at age 80 or something, competed in the old peoples olympics at age 101, was in the news as the oldest working American just two years ago (walked to his bee-keeping business every day). He went into the nursing home 2 months ago. Before that he was still up and around and still driving! He offered to drive my parents around town when they visited him last year.

He was born in a sod hut and lived a long full life in Quinter, Kansas.

He was a living legend in our family. For more information google "Waldo McBurney."

Maybe condolences aren't necessary, but a thought... it's surely needed. Probably not a simple thought.
