Well there are two kinds that I am familiar with, swordplay, and the fancing you put up in a yard or pasture. And because I live in the boondocks with a lot of farmland, and a Tractor Supply Store within easy reach, I once saw a amagazine article that used the terms in Fencing swordplay to desribe construction fencing. To which were you referring?

Putting up fence. So it's not really something you keep up with so much as do when you need to. It is plenty hard though, especially putting in corners.

That's what Eian's been doing too, so I think you were on the same page.

I wish I had that artical, it would have been hysterical to share. Although I think Mr. Eian also said something about a fencing uniform on another thread... Maybe he'll clarify, or maybe he does both.... In which case, COOL!

Actually, my initial comment to CX regarding fencing being hard was referring to his fencing. But you are all correct about my fencing being bloody damn hard, too! Image We're working on that again today, and it's still too freakin' hot!

I took some intramural lessons in fencing while in college. I wasn't flexible enough, and it took too much concentration. My hand-eye coordination is blimey, but having to keep up with all that while formulating "chess" moves in me head was too much. I'll stick with rugby, thank you very much. Image

I wish it was hot here it's cold and damp! Wanna switch? There's enough farms here you can still "fence." :D

I just came from a damp farm! No thanks. Right now, I may be helping me deartháir put up a new privacy fence in his backyard, but there are no farms in sight here in the city.

Image is as close as I plan to come to horticulture for quite some time...

Fencing is mostly done now for me. There's a little finish up work, and clean-up. I'm not busting my ass today for it though, especially since it's supposed to get into the mid-80s. Now all the people who work inside are happy because it's "finally summer", but I miss it being cool out.

I wish it would stay like this all summer. My peppers would probably just give up the ghost, but it would be worth it.

On the other hand, the high school four doors down is replacing their roof this summer and we neighbors just found out how that's going to work so they can get it done before the kids go back (because otherwise the first day of school will be delayed):

Roof removal crew: 10 pm-6am
New roof application crew: 7:30 am - 3:30 pm.

So maybe we'd just as soon have to put the air conditioning on. :-X

OMG When will you sleep!!!! I'd raise a fuss at town hall. However this does remind me of a funny story... During one of the many times my childhood home went through renovation, one morning I woke up and went into the living room to find the roof GONE! Now that wasn't so starteling What WAS a shock was the workmen on said roof one of them being a GIGANTIC crush of mine and me with bed head and an almost nonexistent nightgown! Thanks dad.

I'd rather get no sleep for a summer than have the roof fall in on the students next year, especially since my kid will be in that building. And I'd sure as hell rather pay for a new roof than a new building.

There's already been more than enough yelling about our school district this year. I'm just waiting until my cranky next-door neighbor goes ballistic. She already hates everything about them and about the town. These poor people, most of them just trying to do their jobs in the best way they can at wages generally below neighboring districts, many of them in unpaid volunteer posts like the school board, and there's always a certain part of the population that seems to regard it all as a giant evil conspiracy to steal their tax money and ruin their lives.

Oh well I wasn't aware of all the circumstances. You are quite right. Kids come before sleep. If I had a baby or if that baby was an adult I'd gladly do anything even get up in the morning for said kid. I'm sure your son is very happy and proud to have you as a mommy.
