Yep, it's just the prep. I had one round this morning, another round this afternoon, and because the procedure is in the afternoon I get yet another round tomorrow morning. My gut is going to be as clean as a frickin' daisy. Which is good because I sure as hell don't want to do this again for another decade.

Most of all, of course, I hope I don't have some horrifying unspeakable disease like 'cancer of the anal passage.' (No one wears ribbons for that! One can imagine the color if they did...)

Credit report?? What does it do

It should tell you if someone has taken out a loan or a credit card in your name. You go to this site:

Pick one of the three companies to give you your government-mandated free annual credit report, steadfastly refuse all their devious efforts to get you to pay extra for things you don't need, like your credit score, and check out your free report. You can get all three reports at once if you want, but I like to space mine out over the year.

Colonoscopy prep? Just the mention of that makes my gut twist. I had one a couple of years ago, that big jug of nasty stuff to drink... I empathize. And don't want to do it again when it comes around. Sigh, but better that and catch any problems early.

Actually, this guy lets you just mix the miralax into the Gatorade, so you even get to pick your favorite flavor. But I'm really glad I had a split prep and didn't have to down all 64 oz in one shot. At first you think -- hey, this isn't so bad. Two glasses later you feel like you never, ever want to drink anything ever again.

Right now I'm so tired from lack of sleep over the last two nights and so freakin' hungry and thirsty that I'm REALLY looking forward to sedation... My HUSBAND has been napping all morning, so I can't sleep for fear we'll miss the appointment.

Okay, first I thought it had something to do with bright lights blinding you, then I googled "meaning of colonoscopy prep" and got a fully detailed description. And I was eating before my computer.
BTW, I feel with you Alelou, it isn't the nicest thing.

I know it very well (You know my job) by also I experienced it.
But the really important thing is not Colonoscopy. The real issue is its result.

Ah, it was fine. I was indeed as clean as a frickin' daisy, and I have the beautiful color pictures to prove it. I was told I have a "redundant" colon, but apparently that's just a quirk of my colon and shouldn't influence my writing too much. I'm also apparently quite literally tight-assed, which is just what Elessar would have guessed.

The sedation was wonderful, the long post-procedure nap was even better, and no more prep for ten years. And the first thing I did when I got to the car was eat half a pack of saltines. Ah, the simple joys of life!
