Re: The Whine thread.
Sorry! I had no intention of killing the thread. FYI, there was no report on the next day's news of any homocide in the area, so I guess whoever it was got away. I apologize if I upset anyone. It's just life in the big city anyway.

Re: The Whine thread.
Whine: my internet connection is down yet again. It's been down for sevaral days.
And now I'm at the library where the crazy computers don't like me logging in to the board for some reason, probably have something against some meta tags or whatever. Anyway. They just don't like to let me log in they close the window if I try to open the login page. And they close the window if I log in. Because they're crazy and retarded.
Not to mention my precious downloads thank Surak I have my little iPod that I can use as an external hard drive... cuz the library computers don't have enough space for a single 350mb download, hell even MY computer has more space than that.
So now I'm downloading everything to my iPod. Gah.
AND MY MONITOR IS STILL BROKEN AND NOW IT WON'T EVEN LET ME "FIX" IT ANYMORE WITH THE KEYCHAIN THINGY.
And my computer freezes every time I plug in the wi-fi adapter. Grrrr.
I just ordered a new laptop. A little baby laptop... and I didn't pay for it cuz I had Amazon gift certificates. Can't wait for it to get here. BTW do torrent downloads work the same on wi-fi?

AAAAGGGGGHHHH!
I'm having a meeting w/ my son's teacher tomorrow...been having issues w/Michael riding the bus. He's supposed to have a 5-point harness on the special needs bus, but so far, there hasn't been one. So I've had to schlepp all 3 kids to school early in the morning. I'm hoping to get it straightened out...and not end up arguing over semantics in my son's Individual Education Plan (which outlines EXACTLY what services he's entitled to in the school system...)
Sara's got a cold and wants to be held all the time!
Christina spilled her drink all over my laptop and now it doesn't work at all! Glad I backed up my copies of "Needs of the Many"
I'm cranky due to lack of sleep. And I gotta learn some basic Korean greetings before next Thursday.
WAAAAAHHHH!!!

You can download torrents over wifi fine. I've been doing it for several weeks on the hostel wifi when I have been working in another city. As long as the wifi AP isn't configured to block ports and p2p applications .

I'm sorry.and why do you need to learn Korean greetings?
I have a new Korean student who doesn't speak much English. I'd like to at least make her feel more at ease if I could at least say "Hi, how are you?"

I don't know how you do all this and write so much!!!
I don't sleep. Seriously, Sarah's feeding every 2-4 hours, so I'm lucky if I get ANY uninterrupted sleep. Plus, Christina still has sleeping issues. Don't think that I've slept much in the past FIVE years.
Oh, and I've had to teach myself to type wirh one hand while holding Sarah in the other. LOL. So any mistakes in any fics are due to that. LOL

Re: The Whine thread.
Bwahaha. I've always typed with one hand... what I can't teach myself is how to type with BOTH

Re: The Whine thread.
Whine: remember when I hit my head and went to the hospital. Well I just got an ambulance bill for $888.
And that's just the ambulance not even the hospital what the frell.
Dude that's like more expensive than a frelling limo ride to the hospital and back, plus 2 VIP tickets to the OR!! Like seriously WTF
and like when the ambulance was here and they checked me out they said I had a choice, that either they can take me to the hospital in the ambulance or someone from the zoo could give me a ride instead of paying the ambulance bill. Well so much of a "choice" when the paramedics are the only people around who aren't like totally wasted.
Really.
And even though it's been well over a month since the incident my eye socket STILL hurts. Like how long is it supposed to hurt. And it's not even like "bruise" pain, it kinda feels like an open wound, just... on the inside, I guess. I dunno. It hurts.

Re: The Whine thread.
Well, I know you're going to tell us you can't afford it, but it's your eye, which is attached to your BRAIN, and both of those are pretty important. So if it still hurts this long later, maybe you should go get it looked at? Or at least call the hospital and ask if it needs to be looked at again? (What did your discharge instructions say?)

Re: The Whine thread.
My discharge instructions said to see their ophthalmologist if I still had that black spot in my eye like after the next day. Which I didn't. And they said that everything was just a big nasty bruise nothing to really worry about.
And it's not actually my eye that hurts, it's the bone in the corner of the eye socket like where the eye socket and the eyebrow connect to the temple

Re: The Whine thread.
Well... especially if it's been cold and rainy, maybe it's just some rheumatic type of thing going on at the scene of a past injury ... if there's any swelling or fever or vision changes, though, I'd still get it checked out. (Maybe when Distracted gets back she'll weigh in... cuz I'm just talking out of my ass.) In the meantime ... try an Advil?

Re: The Whine thread.
*sigh* Always the friend, never a lover.
So I've been helping this friend of mine through a break-up with another friend. I've been there for her emotionally, I've been her sympathetic ear, her shoulder to cry on, etc. I've also had eyes for her since I first saw her. Now, don't get me wrong, I haven't been expecting anything in return for being an emotional anchor for her, but I did have hopes, and it's been a long time since I've let myself hope. Today I was reminded why.
In the course of discussion today, she mentioned that she's hooked up with someone else. I acted like I was happy for her, but I've pretty much been crushed inside.

Oh my, Cx!
What must I say? I believe the right moment arrives, some other time, for everyone.

Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four
And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.
