I HAVE earphones. And I was using my earphones. And then I put ANOTHER pair of earphones over them to cover the ears. And put my little hands over them to cover whatever else I can cover. IT DIDN'T HELP!!!! :? :( :bitch: :explode:

Have you tried asking them politely to talk elsewhere? It works maybe .00008% of the time, but its worth a try. :?
Working on a major fan fic project. Two-thirds done. Hope to put it up in the not TOO distant future.

Eh...
Conan is always Conan! :)
Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four

And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

I bought a new laptop today. It's an HP pavillion. Nice little unit. Came loaded with Vista.

You know all those people you hear and read about, moaning and whining about what a cruddy operating system Vista is? How so many people go on and on at boring length about how miserable they are at being forced to use this pitiful excuse for an OS, and how they have never seen anything this bad?

It's true. It's all gospel truth. Every word of it. This is not even a joke. My brand spanking new, dual core 64 bit AMD processor with 3 gig of RAM and an nVidia graphics card running a full gig of video ram is choking and gagging along like a 286. It is skipping and stuttering while trying to run a simple dvd. I opened a word processor (A WORD PROCESSOR!) and it took me approximately 43 seconds to open a blank page.

A freakin' WORD PROCESSOR! This is a 64 BIT, DUAL CORE, THREE GIGABYTE of RAM system. and it won't open a word processor without struggling.

It is beyond sad.

Fortunately, I hold in my hand the solution. Thank you Linus Torvalds. :D Bless you and all your little aquatic avian helpers.

I lost my make-up purse for three days and everyone kept asking me, "Are you OK?" "Everything all right?" Happens everytime I don't wear makeup. They think I'm tired or have been crying. But I FOUND IT!
I'm donating my body to science fiction.

Um -- I have Vista on a pretty much similar system, and I'm not having any speed issues. I can't believe how fast it is. I'm having the odd crash, and some software support issues especially with things like photo software, but there's nothing slow about opening or running on this this baby. It's about a hundred times faster than my old system was and I sometimes have five or six programs running at once. You might have an issue more serious than your OS going on there.
OMG, ANOTHER new chapter! NORTH STAR Chapter 28

It also takes up 30 GB of your HD for ... something... Just make sure you don't delete anything in the folder called "App Data" or whatever its called like I did when I first found it and the enormous amount of space it was taking up, because apparently it's important... :?

As for speed problems, yeah, I have those, as well as a lot of issues with changes to applications from something that made sense to something that makes no sense, not to mention the annoying security issues I have to deal with to run most anything or to even see all the processes running on my machine in the task manager. It also crashes a lot - so much so that it reminds me of my Dad's iMac, which crashed often for no apparent reason. And unlike XP, which would let you force quit any application that was frozen up in the task manager, often Vista will reboot the computer, on its own, without consulting you. Vista does that for a lot of things - it tries to guess what you want and then does it, but without asking you first. Which is ironic considering most everything else it will ask you at least once, if not twice, if you really want to do something. :wtf:

I miss XP :( I swear the only reason I don't go back is because I want to play Halo 2, which thanks to the bean counters at Microshaft only runs on Vista, and won't do squat on XP unless you have a hack for it.
