I agree. Nonfiction is the one area where you can easily get your foot in the door.

I just find that for feature articles, for example, the amount of time I put into research and reporting usually brings the income down to something like $5 an hour without benefits, which means Target would pay better. Meanwhile I can make 10-20 times more per hour writing advertising copy. Momma needs to pay the mortgage and the taxes and put food on the table, so momma knows which she would choose.

Okay, I just tried to make coffee for my husband. In the process, I pushed down too hard on the French press, spurted hot Cafe Bustelo all over myself and the kitchen counter, and reacted by rearing back and knocking over my mug full of over-brewed English tea, spreading it and its contents across the kitchen floor.

Then, not ready to give up, I put the milk in the microwave to heat up for 30 seconds, except that I accidentally pressed 30 minutes, and it exploded.

I should just go back to bed.

See, this is what you do.

Step 1) Make a cup of coffee (or tea, whichever)

Step 2) Sit down with your beverage of choice.

Step 3) Drink it.

Step 4) Wait five minutes for the go juice to kick in.

Step 5) Get up and attempt to do anything constructive.

Well, my daughter has now been to the therapist 8 times and still hasn't said one word. He was thinking it was behavioral for a while, but now he is considering something called PDD-NOS, which is on the autism spectrum. It's like she's a normal child with me and her siblings, but can't relate well with others as soon as she steps out of the house. I've always kind of felt something was off with her, but (unfortunately) didn't trust my instincts. Nothing has been officially diagnosed yet. I've been having trouble signing in on the boards again, so I'm whining here a few days late. Guess we'll just have to take all of this as it comes and hope for the best.

Maybe she's just really REALLY strong willed. She doesn't wanna talk and nobody can make her. So there.

I know someone else in her family who'd be capable of that given the proper motivation. She's got very strong opinions about certain things.

I'll keep her (and you!) in my prayers. Hopefully, whatever happens, this therapist will be able to help you do the best possible things to help your little girl.

I join my wishes.
Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four

And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

I just needed a good WTF moment today so I googled "Archer/T'Pol" and now I just think I'm going to puke. Why do I do these things to myself?

And the question too is why I did the same after your reaction? :upchuck: Sorry, I can't stop myself now.

Sometimes when I'm really bored I'll look at Archer/T'Pol stuff on YouTube. At least you get some different shots. If the song is perky enough I don't even want to gag.

I'll watch Malcolm/Trip stuff on YouTube too -- such nice eye candy. There's a very cute, utterly flaming one set to Mr. Sandman.
