Yep. That's a rant, all right.
But Kotik... really. Tell us what you truly think.

Uh Oh,
Kotik need beer. That much is obvious. If you really want your head to explode read the 10 or 12 page summary of his former executive assistance book. He basically rats out the entire european tour with tales of euros stuffed into pockets at small private races.
Gotta love Europeans....well we all still love our Kotik!!

Re: The Whine thread.
I scolded my right hand on hot water last night and it's been hurting like hell. Couldn't really sleep so right now I'm tired and feel weird. But the cortisone ointment I borrowed from my neighbour at least makes it tolerable now, and I don't have to dip my hand in cold water all the time.
I wasn't able to work today because of this (useless right hand) and we'll see how tomorrow feels.

Re: The Whine thread.
Mmm... a burn that large might be worth getting checked out. Especially since cortisone suppresses your immune system. The great risk would be infection and feeling weird is not a good sign (though it may just be from pain).
Dr. D knows better than I do, though. Paging Dr. D!

Re: The Whine thread.
I think my weird feelings are due to a combination of lack of sleep and the pain. And I only have one minor blister. And it's not the entire hand, it's a part on the upper side. We'll see tomorrow.

Re: The Whine thread.
Ouch. Sounds painful. What i usually recommend for small second degree burns is to just keep them clean and covered until they heal. Probably would be better to use an antibiotic burn ointment on it rather than cortisone, since cortisone slows healing and increases the risk of infection. I'd suggest asking your pharmacist which one he'd recommend. An anti-inflammation med like ibuprofen by mouth might help for the pain. That and a gauze dressing. If it itches while it's healing, a dose of Benadryl (diphenhydramine) at bedtime might also help. At least it'll help you sleep. But if the burn starts seeping more or gets more red, see a doctor. Infection can deepen a burn injury.

Re: The Whine thread.
Thanks for the advice but I think it will be OK.
It feels much better today. The pain is gone, no blisters and just a light shade of red on the affected area. So I think I've dodged an infection.

Re: The Whine thread.
My whine: I just found out that strange wound behind my ear (on my auricle) is in fact a small tumor. Today the doctor took a puncture and afterwards I got ill and now my ear is really hurting. If it turns out to be malignant, I need a small operation. According to the doctor it's easy treatable, but still I don't like the idea.

Re: The Whine thread.
Better a little ill now than seriously ill later, Panyasan. (And if he said it's easily treated, that's GOOD.)
In Florida just about everyone over a certain age goes around with band-aids from time to time thanks to minor skin surgeries. The sun is just not kind to fair-skinned people. Back of the ear is better than across the nose. That's a real common one down there and even up here in the frozen north.
But here's hoping it was not anything that will need further treatment.

Re: The Whine thread.
Thanks everyone for your kindness and prayer. You're right, Alelou, better a bit ill now, than seriously ill later. And I am very glad it can be treated. Interesting what you told us about Florida. Down here these kind of things are very rare. We also don't loads of sunshine most of the year. But I do have a fair skin and too much sunshine isn't good for me. I never made the connection with my skin type.

Re: The Whine thread.
Didn't you spend some time in Japan, panyasan? I wouldn't call it tropical but we do get a bit more sun here than Northern Europe. Hope it turns out to be benign!
