The other day some one asked me if I was enjoying my summer... which summer?

After three months filled with cold and rain I am hoping to have a little bit of sunshine.

Panysanne, one of the coldest Summers I have ever experienced was in Holland. Cold all Summer long. wouldn't warm up at all.

Next year was the same. Happens

After three months filled with cold and rain I am hoping to have a little bit of sunshine.

I wish we could trade enough to even us both out. Europe must be getting our rain, while the US is mostly hot and parched.

Although today a lot of the East Coast got socked with hail and stuff. My stepdaughter had marble-sized hail carpeting her yard a mile from the Jersey Shore. We got one downpour with hail in the middle of last night here, so I'm not quite as grief-stricken as Weeble, but it was not nearly as much as we needed.

Gotta love northwest lower Michigan. Wife finally gets her sister to come up here to do some kayaking. So instead of the 90 deg days we've been having for friggin' ever. Its 65 overcast and slightly drizzling. Not enough rain to help the garden mind you just enough that you wouldn't want to be out on the river. ARRGHHHHHHH!

On a happy note we shifted our plan and went blueberry picking at the newly discovered U-Pick place over to Buckley.

I have never seen them so huge and plentiful. Eac of us picked over 5 quarts in an hour and 10 minutes. Plus this guy has multiple varieties and will have berries until the first frost. We be making jelly this afternoon!

Oh well maybe a campfire this evening. Maybe that will cause some rain to fall.

Pies and cookiees are about the only things I bake that are worth being eaten.

Yeah, we were overcast all day, and not a drop.

It was nice being overcast and blessedly cool, though...

No such luck here. When we're overcast it's just dark and muggy. Still over 90 degrees, though.

yeah but we were supposed to do the beer drinky kayak thing. Oh well see the happy thread for actual outcome..Oh and my nephew who has made it to AAA ball (Iowa Cubs) is getting shelled.....

It's 66 degrees in July! I'm wearing my fall coat in the house! Something is very wrong here.

That sounds wonderful and fresh in July. (Though really it's just normal early morning weather here if we're not having a heat spell.)
