:guffaw: I just think it's funny that's all. I love Batgirl. Not as much as I love Catwoman but still... I see it as a sign of excellent taste.

again, *shrugs*....

on this completely random note, though, I'd like to point out my reading has reached a new low. Despite the vast number of books on my shelves I've yet to read, ranging from Paul of Dune to Uylesses to some random philosophy books and a memoir on the history of the US side of the space race that I'm actually currently in the middle of, I spent the afternoon reading childrens books. and not even a particularly good one, in my opinion. But what am I probably going to end up doing this evening, instead of something useful, like writing? read the sequel. *shakes head*

Okay this is pretty interesting... Wanna buy and re-do a house and have the leader of the USA as a neighbor? Get used to the Secret Service telling you what to do with your reno plans. Has something like this ever been in the news before? http://realestate.msn.com/blogs/listed. ... &GT1=35009

"Emperor"? They should just call a spade a spade and label it The Porno-Chair.

Random story. According to my sister, my nephew who is 5, spontaneously drew a picture of the "Adult Brain" and labeled different sections. There was a large section for "FACTS," and three smaller sections for "Art," "where the love is," and "the bossing around part." He was making a picture book and the little boy in his story googles "Adult Brian" to find out why his parents sent him to his room, lol . . .

My nephew learned to read just out of the blue, with no one teaching him, and he can and does get online and google things. The first time he googled something by himself, he googled "frog games" because he was looking for games his plastic frog might want to play . . . and he found some!
I'm donating my body to science fiction.

I suppose this makes a lot of sense, at least for cotton underwear. I'm curious about the quality.

I buy non-itchy wool socks for the winter (which is over half the year here) and hang them to dry, so unless they're just cheap crap (as some are) they usually last for years. They can be very hard to find, however, so I'll even darn them if I have to. Warm, dry feet make me happy.
OMG, ANOTHER new chapter! NORTH STAR Chapter 28

It sounds like you have a very gifted nephew, JT.

Man, 5 year olds sure have it different than the rest of us did hey? I remember sifting endlessly through ancient encyclopedias for answers to my questions. Waiting days or weeks to get to the library to look something up, only to find that the book I wanted was at another branch and out for 3 weeks. Next month, you get the book, and maybe what you're looking for is there.

Aureilia's like "Mommy I want to see a picture of a baby kangaroo that isn't borned yet." or "Mommy, I want to see an xray of a broken turtle leg." or "Mommy I want to see a video of a tornado."

And Google provides.

Man are *they* (the younger generation) gonna be stunned after the cme blanks all their ipods. I'm glad I grew up in the "dark ages" so I'll be able to adapt.

:guffaw: When it comes to the resources we have to educate our kids I have to say I love the information age. But truthfully (and I'm not even a mom) I worry that humanity is morphing into the instant gratification age at an alarming rate. How can we teach our children patience? I know I'm just "Auntie K" but I worry for my nieces and nephews.

Okay I need help, please I'm trying to get a free gift card from Amazon and I need to pass this quiz thing, (the odds of me doing this are slim) but I need to know what the heck kind of a question is... True or false the phraze "Was it a cat I saw" reads the same forwards or backwards?

Now gut intinct says that this is a stupid trick question, but what if I'm missing something?
