Saw the baby today she's georgeous, looked right into my eyes. She's 3 days old. I think my family has another genius.

I managed to pass my CDL tests - all of them, even the amazingly harrowing road test - and all I need to do now is take the paperwork to the DMV and I'll have my commerical driver's lisence. I'm rather in shock still, as I was sure I'd fail. However, I was forced to ride with someone else this afternoon and, after doing that for 4 hours, I can offically say I feel a lot better about my own driving...

I finished all my syllabi for Fall Semester this morning. Tomorrow - I'm going to spend the day getting all my online class stuff done, including trying to learn the new learning software the higher ups have foisted upon me.

But the syllabi is the hardest part, and I usually like to get it done before August - so I can spend the last days of summer not worrying about them. *whew*

Oh good. I was wondering if my sudden compulsion to start working on this stuff was idiotic.

No. I think its something most profs end up doing - you don't want to have your last happy days of summer spoiled by paperwork hanging over your head.

Just heard back from the company I've been waiting all week to, well, hear back from. I'm hired. It's a couple weeks before they can get me in for orientation, but I have a job. At last. Teaming up to drive with a guy I met at my class who was my age now when I was born and it should be completely crazy, but it's a job. Go me.

I apologize for being AWOL for the last 2 months. This is a kinda bad news/good news thing. I no longer have a job. No big surprise, I have been begging to be let go for months. My unemployment kicked in and life isn't as bleak as it was. Have been trying to wrap my head around it all and not necessarily succeeding. But... I have all sorts of time on my hands and will be getting back to writing about our intrepid pair soon. I have chapter 7 written... it just needs alot of editing. I feel sad about leaving the company... but not sorry that we went our separate ways. It's taught me alot... and I have another book to write about what I saw and experienced. But that will come later. Rest assured that once I get back on my feet, so to speak, I will be posting my next installment... hopefully in the next 2 weeks. You have no idea how relieved I am to no longer be responsible for the lives of these folks in a time when life is cheap. Now to catch up on your stories.... I am soooo behind in my reading.
