Doh!

I'm still trying to imagine T'Pol coping with it...I think she might just melt down and start nerve-pinching everyone around her.

It isn't Europe. Since Omsk is beyond the Ural, it's actually Asia. You have to understand that - maybe 80% - of russia is part of Asia, not Europe. The strange thing is, that Moscow cares for the 20% that is part of Europe, the 80% behind the Ural is - for them - utter wilderness. Omsk is a 3 hour flight from moscow. the farthest point in easterly direction is like a 9-10 hours flight from Moscow. That's how vast this country is  It's actually funny, because all the way to Ekaterinburg, people drive left-hand drive cars, because they get them from europe. East of that (and Ekaterinburg is still a 1 hour flight away from Omsk) most 'Inomarki' (foreign cars) are right hand drive, because they come from Japan.

Kotik, I once drove from London to Stockholm. Started out in england, Left side of the road, to the Contiinent, right hand side of the road, Sweden, left hand side of the road. I damned near got killed a ouple times because I was so used to driving in England I forgot and turned in to the wrong side of the road. wound up on sidewalks a few times. Real adventure.

No, Japanese trains are fun! Especially when you have a baby screaming her lungs out, because she want to get off and three Japanese grannies try to calm her down and people handling you cookies, fruit and books to get her quiet. Congrats on your new job, Enzinma88!

Well, that must have been some time ago. We changed to the right side on September 3rd 1967.

The distance between Stockholm and Gothenburg is 484 kilometers. I don't know what that is in American miles. A Swedish mile is 10 kilometers.

My lit students are making me giggle this week. One of them wrote a press release for Andrew Marvell's "To His Coy Mistress" as a new season of the TV show "The Bachelor." It's just hysterical.

That's awesome, Alelou. I should have my students do something like that. :) What a great assignment.

It worked out pretty well, thank God! It's my first semester teaching this class, so things are a bit hit or miss. (I PM'ed you the assignment sheet in case you want it.)

Guys!!! You will never believe it. I just played a pick-up ice hockey game at MELLON ARENA. That is were the Penguins play. I sat on the bench where the Penguins sit. WHAT AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE. It was half women/half men. One women rented the ice and told a few friends, who told a few friends, who told a few friends. We all showed up with $20.00 and PLAYED FOR TWO HOURS!!! Pictures to follow! I didn't dare announce it beforehand because it sounded too good to be true.

Two of my five final grades for the semester are in.

Chemistry: A-
Yoga: B+

I'm anticipating As in the rest of my classes, so needless to say, since I took two more classes this semester than last, I'm extremely satisfied, even though I didn't get a 4.0.

Wow. An American mile is about 1.6 kilometers, so that's a big difference.

I'm just trying to imagine the day everyone had to remember to drive on the other side of the road, and it's not a pretty mental picture.

Way to go, Aquarius! That's terrific.
