It's been a while and I seem to have forgotten if we still need the HTML coding when submitting stories. I rather thought not anymore, but the submission guidelines still say we do. Am I imagining things or not?

Thanks.

You don't. Guess the submission guidelines need updating.

One new wrinkle -- try to avoid adding manual spaces between paragraphs, or you'll get a really wide space when it shows up here.

The best way to do it is to set your paragraph format to "add space between paragraphs of the same style", so when you hit enter at the end of a paragraph there will be a space in the document as you write but the computer only "sees" one paragraph code.

Yeah, I think Word 2007 does that by default, which is why so many people end up with doubled spaces if they were used to the old style.

You can tell if a document will have the huge spaces by clicking the paragraph symbol on your toolbar, which should reveal the underlying paragraph code symbols. You should only have one symbol between paragraphs, not 2.

Generally we're on the lookout for the spacing issue. It's helpful, but I understand, lots of people are old-school typers like me.
