I don't know if this is such a big deal or not, but any post or PM to my box made yesterday (or even today), I haven't gotten a reply notification sent to my email. I don't know exactly when it started because I wasn't online at all yesterday, but it seems like I was still receiving them up through Friday.

I checked the spam box, they're not there either.



I wonder if it's happening to other people, too? Because it seemed unusually quiet here this weekend. If I miss a day online I usually have a BUNCH of stuff in my mailbox from here...so I'm wondering if others haven't been around posting, either, because they haven't been notified that topics they've been posting on have been responded to?

Just a thought.

I don't get notifications (I didn't even know you could for posts), but it has been pretty quiet. I think it's just quiet.

Yeah, it's something you can set up in your profile when you first sign up, and you should be able to turn it on or off at any time.

Funny thing is, when I went to look through the "global settings" menu in my profile, I can't even find an option for it any more, unless I'm looking in the wrong place. There's an option for notifications of private messages, but not for topic replies. Hmmmm.....

Okay, never mind, I figured out what was going on. Hopefully it's corrected soon.

Checking the error logs now. Personally I've not had any problems.

Just checked the logs. Theres nothing recent, but I've changed the email settings back to the smtp setup.

Will keep an eye.

Okay, here's the really weird thing:

After the day was half over I was finally able to diagnose and fix the problem on my end, because I was getting no email from anyone, not just here. So once I made the necessary adjustments all the emails I'd missed started hitting my inbox, things were cool. And I was getting subsequent notifications from here just fine.

Now, d_r, I'm getting my emails from everyone else so I know my inbox is fine, but I'm back to no longer receiving notifications from here. Do I have to go back and adjust something that's been reset in my profile?

Never mind, it seems to like me again.

Ok, no problem. I did try switching back to the SMTP method, but I got a megaton f**kload of errors even though the setup should be ok. I'll have another look soon.

I haven't had any problems since. I think that second "issue" I had was just a hiccup from the first.

Popping in just to say that for some reason I'm not getting my PMs ... so if I've been tardy responding to anyone, my apologies. I only log in occasionally at this point. (And hey, I'm getting a lot done!! Which is good, since we've gone from winter to midsummer in just a couple of days here...bleah! Come on Canada, send us a cold front PLEASE.)

My account has the right email address and my email address book includes TS, so I have no idea why this is. If you know my email address, feel free to hit me up that way instead.

Come to think of it, my PM notifications have been hit and miss, too.

Just to let y'all know, I had a conversation with Little Red on livejournal this evening, and it seems she isn't getting email notifications of PMs landing in her inbox, either.

Hmm, the PHP MAIL extension has always been a bit shite. I'll try and force SMTP into working or re-write it at some point this bank holiday.

FWIW, it seems to have worked itself out on my end, after a few days. There's still a bit of a delay in getting them, but that could just as easily be a problem with Yahoo mail and not here. I've had people send me things (even other Yahoo users) that haven't shown up for hours before, for no apparent good reason, so at this point I don't know what to think.
