Just to let you know, I spoke prematurely about the email notifications that we've received PMs being worked out. The ones I receive are still spotty. Topic reply notifications are still okay, but the PM notifications in particular are kinda goofy.

Little Red also reports that she's not getting hers...mostly because I send her something, don't hear from her for like a week, then I email her saying "WTF? Did you not know I sent you a PM?" and she says "No!"

Gotta say I'm having the same issue, justTrip'n sent me 3 pm's yesterday and I only got an email for one.

That's pretty much what happens to me. I used to get a notification for every PM sent, even if I had more than one from the same person. Now I'm lucky if I get one notification, even if there are four messages from different people waiting for me.

I'm also having this problem. Have stopped relying on email notifications for PMs.

It seems very intermittent to me. The other day, I had five messages waiting in my PM box, and there were actually four notifications in my email, so not bad.

Then I won't get any PM notifications at all.

I had one notification in my email this morning, and there was actually one PM waiting for me.

I received three subsequent PMs since, and no notifications were forthcoming.

This has been a problem for a while now. I decide to notify you about not subscription notifications or PM emails then the notifications work once or twice so I assume you're working on it and then they disappear again. No PM notices at all. I guess I assumed it had something to do with this overhaul but perhaps not. I miss them because now I have to remember to check in if I want to attempt to follow topic.

My sincere apologies regarding this latest fiasco, but amongst work commitment and other RL stuff (thinking of popping the question soon, maybe) I haven't had any time to work on this.

Let me start off by saying that the php mail function is in the holy trinity of crappy software. I know this because it has managed to break again all by itself, with no intervention from any human. Good software doesn't do this. It also causes much traffic on bugtraq for the same reason.

Anyway, I have now disabled the aforementioned crime of computing and have switched back to the SMTP config after fixing silly typos in the settings for it. This should have everything properly again, but I shall keep my eye on it regardless.

You all have the patience of staints for putting up with this, which I thank you for.

Did email notification go down again? It worked for some time now ( a week or more) it's gone again.

The same happens to me.

This is still being a pain in the ass. It's got all its settings just fine, so I can't really find a good reason for it not working aside from it being a bastard from hell determined to ruin my life. I've been scratching my head over what to do about it, and I'm thinkin about putting a tracer on it, so I can find out why it doesn't bloody work. It's gonna take some time though, so bear with us.

FYI: For those lurkers who are thinking of registering, this will also affect the activation system, so if you don't get your activation email, drop me a line at tr.wright1 "at" gmail "dot" com and I'll set you straight.

Not a problem just wondered why it was up for a short time then went kaput again. Aren't computers great. And I seem to remember they were supposed to make our lives easier.

I stopped getting them today. Any help?????
