FEDCON, Dallas, TX (June 13-15, 2008)

Okay, guys. It's down to the wire. Six days and counting before Fedcon.

How many people are going? You guys want to meet somewhere Friday evening for dinner? Who knows anything about local restaurants, or am I the closest to being a local? I'd like to be able to communicate with everyone and get us all together, so anyone who's interested in a group meet up, please pm me with the number of the cell phone you'll be carrying at the con. I'll give you mine and we can meet somewhere.

K... I'm not sure if we're going to be bringing our cell... but we absolutely must meet-up! I've been looking at all kinds of dining options (yes, I'm a food freak) in both Dallas and Fort Worth, but the question is, where do we want to go? For those of you who have been to DFW before, you'll know that we're over a half hour from either Dallas, or Fort Worth, and really, there's nothing but highway-fare in between.

Personally, I vote for Friday night in Fort Worth: lots of restuarants to chose from and some of the most renoun jazz clubs in the South. Just so long as we don't end up anywhere near the dry-county of Irvine, I think we'll be okay

BTW... is everyone staying at the Hyatt? We sure are, and if everyone else is too, it could make for easy meetin'

I dunno about driving all the way into Fort Worth. There should be a decent (although probably expensive) restaurant in the hotel itself, and "highway fare" can be fun. I'm up for some good old fashioned Texas bar-b-que as long as I bring my Tums.

I'm planning to go to the Early Bird Party at 7:30, and I'm an early eater. If I wait until 9 pm to have dinner you'll be bringing me there by stretcher. Why don't we plan to meet in the hotel lobby at a specific time and let the concierge tell us where there's a good place to eat nearby? I vote for 5 pm, personally, but that's just me.

I don't drink, but one advantage to the hotel is you can have a margarita with dinner and not have to dodge Texas law enforcement on the way back to the hotel. (Not you, eK! )

I have to reiterate here EK's and my most unnatural fear of foods tending to the "fast"... this includes all road-side chain-eateries, such as: Chili's, Red Lobster, Tony Roma's, Boston Pizza, Red Robin's, Montana's, Kelsey's, and, I'm afraid, TGI Friday's
