Here's one I randomly came up with:
You pick an author to rewrite a specific episode/scene from any season and you get to pick the pairing. If you'd like, you can even pick a word/phrase/quote you want to see in the story.
Breaks down to:
1. Pick an episode/scene
2. Pick a pairing
3. Pick a word, phrase or quote you'd like to see in the story (optional)
4. Pick an author
Use the poll or a reply to vote!! If you all like it enough, the site bosses might even let us do it!

Re: Yet Another Challenge Idea
Er, I'd probably be up for suggesting ideas, and even be willing to volenteer to be cat wrangler again if one's needed, but probably wouldn't sign up for the writing. Trying to break through my block on my own story at the moment. Doubt I could write anything for anyone else at the moment.

Re: Yet Another Challenge Idea
I might be up for this if it's a ficlet--and only after I'm done with "Unexpected Too". I can't do another chapter fic like that again. "Dark Echoes" is my number one priority at the moment. But a little rewritten scene, I might be up for that.
Officially retired from writing Trek fanfiction.

Re: Yet Another Challenge Idea
If I can limit my entry to two pages I'm up for almost anything.

Re: Yet Another Challenge Idea
It was just a thought. Most of us here know what each other typically writes, so obviously the idea would be to challenge a writer to write something outside their comfort zone...and each of us will obviously have the option whether or not to accept the challenge.

I think it's a neat idea.

Re: Yet Another Challenge Idea
Don't we already have a challenge for writing going with the 'Tag You're It"? It has been inactive of late but unless I'm missing something this challenge fits within the parameters of that already.

Neat idea, but that could mean, the result isn't up to the authors usual quality. I can only speak for myself of course, but I tend to avoid certain things (angst, torture of a character, death) because I don't like it or (space battles, action), because I'm not very good at writing those. It may still be a challenge, but the danger is there that the story never takes off, because the author isn't comfortable with the result.
