Warpgirl, we always did agree with one another. but likeTrip and T-Pol we were talking around one another.

It may be that I have finally managed to understand what you are saying lke Trip should have done.

Yes, but it is so frustrating watchiing that. I wanted to throw someting at the TV at times. I would find myself shoutinng at the TV.

That morning after scene. I came this close to putting my foot through the screen on my TV.

I was outraged. It was so stupid. Nothing leading up to it. She coud have been shown in her quarters struggling with what she had done. Wondering what to say to trip when she met him in the morning.

She certainly didn't need to be so cold hearted she could have let him down a bit easier. Let him salvage some of his pride.

Then agreeing to continuing the NP. that too was cruel. NP is intimate and she had just told him that thier intmacy was an exploration. Was she saying that she might want to expkore more but no SEX. That is asking an awful lot from a man you have just stabbed in the heart.

I know why he brought it up. He would be hoping that she really didn't mean what she had just
said and that in the NP they would become lovers again if they just had some intimate time alone.

Hey I scare my cat all the time yelling at ENT. The dog just looks at me like "God mom again? Why do we watch this? Lets watch CSI instead." But like I said I can understand her freaking out so badly. And she WAS NOT trying to be cruel in ANY WAY. To lable her cruel is just mean, misguided, young, inexperienced, totally unprepared for the consequences... All of these are good discriptors. But NOT cruel.

Okay, NOT deliberately Cruel. but what she did was unconciously Cruel. she didn't mean it to be but how else can you label it. she was not a scared Teenager. She was an experienced intelligence Agent before she joined the Science directorate. she served in the Vulcan Embasy for a year before coming on board enterprise. As I say, she was not an exciteable teen, scared teen, she was 64 years old!

She had her head screwed on riight and tight.

She had no excuse of being a terrified young inexerpienced thing just away from home for the first time and had made a Moral mistake.

She was inexerienced in Sex but she probably had talked about it with her Vulcan female friends.

She may have even looked it up on the HUman Data Base before she seduced Trip.

What she did was calculated and because it was it was cold. she ravaged Trip without compunction.

She could not even look him in the eye. she just held up the cup and sipped her tea as if the subject bored her.

I am not letting her off the hook that easilly.

You really don't know women do you? OK I have no practical experience but usually we don't approach sex like that. I can ALMOST garentee that while it may have LOOKED that way, that wan't what was going on inside her head OR her heart. And I got the feeling T'Pol never had many friends of either sex.

She had to look at Sex as a way of binding him to her and eliminating the thrat of cole. She USED Sex on him.

So this morning ater stuff didn't make any sense.

It was so right for Trip and T-Pol to sleep (if they slept it would have been a shame. they had better things to do with the time) together. Only way for them to get started. Since it was obvious that neither was going to take the first step. t-Pol had to initiate things. NOT that unusual for a female to do only they generaly do it in a way so it seems that the male is the one who started the ball rolling.

anyway, Writers screwed the Pooch and really fouled tings up for them.

I slept terribly unfortunately although that's not unusual because of my health problems. What WAS unusual was someone tried to steal my dog yesterday, so I'm streed out... Now as for my answer... I'm sorry but T'Pol was taking Trellium D at the time and her judgement was impared. Even if she hadn't used any that night or even a week before hand it was still the major factor. She had been using it for at least two months before hand. Let me try and explain this, I'm not a DR. so it might be choppy...

I have A LOT of first-hand knowledge about narcotics and drugs that affect the nervous-system. Because of my CP I've been on MOST of them at one time or another, and a few have nearly killed me more than once. Let me tell you that these drugs build up in your system, no matter how small the dose they keep building up. And they don't flush out in hours or days, it takes months, somtimes years, for it to clear up. Sometimes it never truly does. If T'Pol hadn't been using the Trellium, she would have been upset about Cole, yes.

BUT she would have gone about it MUCH differently, we know from Trip's past "dalliances" that she's more subtle, and goes for making him emberrassed. If she DID decide to "claim" him she would have explained exactly what she wanted, and expected from him in return. There would have been no need for a morning after melt down because she would have been absolutely sure that this was a perminent relationship.

Human and Vulcan standards when it comes to sex are wildly different. It ISN'T discussed by Vulcans even in families, so no, T'Pol wouldn't be gabbing away with friends about it. Sex is usually only permissible in a married or bonded relationship, where you have been betrothed as a child. There's no guess work, no unexpected outsiders trying to steal you man or woman. There are rare exceptions but then usually SOMBODY dies. And Vulcans DON'T mate with aliens as a general rule. Pon Farr is the ONLY acceptable exception.

Humans are COMPLETELY different, they have sex with whoever, whenever, they can know the person only for a few hours, and sometimes have no trouble with the knowledge they'll never meet again. Trip did this TWICE! OK the first time wasn't his fault. When outsiders enter the picture, a few fists might fly, but it's generally unexceptable to kill a rival. To humans Sex isn't the equivilant to a life time commitment.

So T'Pol high out of her mind, and Vulcan biology and psychietry going full throdle sees this trampy MACO going after HER man, and realizes "Hey the idiot doesn't even realize he's MINE! What to do? Well, if I claim him that's it he can't go around with the little whores he collects." So she jumps him, has a wonderful night, wakes up and then there's the proverbial, "What have I done?! He's human! This means absolutely nothing to him. He'll leave me regardless, humans can't bond. What to do? Get him away, so he can't hurt you. Humans cannot mate with Vulcans, no bond, no marriage. No marriage, no commitment."

So yeah she "planned" the whole thing. But when she did, she forgot he was human. And when she remembered SHE FREAKED!

I hope that made sense. I'm having a REALLY awful day physically. I ALMOST want some demerol myself.

I hurt my back years ago foolishly trying to lift a ton of Waterbed. I had to be on pain killers for years. I am just now getting off them. Had an perton but doctor told me then that it would be years befor I finnly got out of pain and he was right.

So I can ermpasize with you.

Okay, t-Pol paniced. She blew her top so to speak. she lost it. She fouled up royally.

But she KNEW he was human whe she seduced him. What did she expect a vulcan Male? She had to know that his reactons would be completely different than what a vulcan male would exhibit.

No, she probably did not think of a bond forming. NO of the long term relationshio or rather commitment

she had other problems: COLE, that had to be dealt with right away. So she dealt with it by
seducing Trip.

She obviously had time alone that night becasue trip had got decked and was probably in sickbay. She should have been considerig her actions with her cold vulcan Logic.

so in the Morning she could have told Trp that she felt that what had happened was great but that it had to stop there. they were two different species and she felt it wouldn't work and that he would just get hurt more if she allowed it to continue.

That I believe trip could have accepted.

Asking her to continue the NP was a plea from him not to cut it and him off completely.

Her head knew he was human 10,000 years of Vulcan biology and a trampy MACO situation did not. The thing about Trellium D is that it makes the inner barbaric, paranoid, raging, sexual Vulcan out. Now call me crazy but that's not an advertisement for rational thoughts an actions. Yes she loved Trip, but that wasn't the motivation. The motivation was GET THIS WHORE AWAY FROM MY MAN!!!! His feelings on the subject weren't a primary concern. That's just Vulcan biology, not malicious intent to shatter the guy's heart. She was acting like a Vulcan female would to her mate, so yeah part of her "forgot" he was human. And you have to remember the Trellium makes it almost impossible for her to use that vaunted "cold Vulcan logic" the very thing that allowed her to act, also made it impossible for her to think about ANYTHING in a clear rational matter. And remember she's not supposed to "feel" anything for a human. All in all, she Freaked and they both got hurt.

Which is WHY I hate the drugs the sex and the whole kit and kaboodle. What in the heck posessed you to lift a waterbed?

Then why in Hell didn't she tell him during the time they were in BED? "You are MINE. My MAN. now and foreer. NOT that Bitch Cole's. MINE.

That TD lowered her inhibitions it would also lower he inhibitons abut saying Unvulcan thigs like I LOVE you. TD set her free from the constructing Vulcan brainwashing straigthjacket of Logic as the vulcans saw it.

She could have told Trp anything in her Heart. So why didn't she?
