Re: Zero hour to Home
Pat, pat!
Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four
And here is the beginning of the whole story.
But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

Well, a lot of you already know my take on what happened between Storm Front and Home.

Yes, and your thread has been great.
But... that white space... it isn't enough for me!

Some of us already have. It's an irresistible missing-scene-o-rama.
That's for sure. The next part of what I'm posting right now is all during Home, but this conversation has me wondering whether I need to insert another scene before the next part.
Hmmm.
OMG, ANOTHER new chapter! NORTH STAR Chapter 28

Re that avatar it's just a blue square as far as I can see.
Storm Front didn't have much TnT but we did get Apologetic!Trip and T'Pol did spend the second part of it continually reminding Archer that they needed her man -- er, their chief engineer -- back.

Re: Zero hour to Home
And there is this little contradiction with what Trip says later in "Home". In "Storm Front" he says he's going to "lay in a different beach every week for two months". In "Home" he doesn't have any plan.
Yes, I noticed that and took it into account in my Home Story "A Tour of the Firecaves." Together with the fact that Trip looked like he was acting as he did his "Poor me. I have no place to go" thing in Home, I took the contradiction to mean that he was just begging for
sympathy and an invitation from T'Pol.
In my backstory for my "Tour of the Firecaves" I assume that they are VERY CLOSE and that their relationship includes some fooling around during neuropressure sessions, but that they have NOT talked about their relationship explicitly. In Home Trip says that he didn't realize he loved T'Pol until after she dumped him (and she acts as if she IS dumping him--she feels responsible for hurting him and knows what it means to him and to her.) So my backstory is they are both enjoying this unspecified close relationship, which they are taking day by day and they have just reached the point--the visit to mom's house--where their nature of their romantic involvement is suddenly undeniable to themselves and others. All that is left is to admit it, which would have happened--except for the ex-fiance appearing on the doorstep and T'Pol getting her arm twisted.

Did she tell him about the Trellium?
No. I don't think so. It doesn't seem like he knows.

Would she have married him if not for Koss? Yes.

That's very insightful, yes. Very well thought... You know, I have this need to read that story again

I don't think it ever could have ever been that simple for these two. If it was, they would have fallen into each other's arms the minute Koss said he would release her.
I also don't think T'Pol ever wants to tell anyone about the Trellium, perhaps especially Trip. She won't ever do it unless she really, really has no choice or her career and relationships are long past. And this is a real barrier to true intimacy between them, which is ironic given what it started (in canon anyway).
I know people objected to turning our heroine into a trellium whore but I have to admit I think that story arc is really interesting. Arguably not handled quite as it should have been, but very interesting. We need our heroes to have interesting flaws.

Sad, isn't it?

Yes, but IMHO T'Pol had already an interesting flaw: her magnificent gift to ruin her life. This is a quote from "Grey's Anatomy" (yeah, I know, don't kill me) but it fits T'Pol: "there is a kingdom called passive-agressive and she's the queen."

Re: Zero hour to Home
Alelou said the Trellium addiction was interesting. Here is the best story I have read on that:
"Tomorrow" by Peter Simons:
http://triptpolers.houseoftucker.com/fiction/author_peter_simons_tomorrow.shtml
"I look at the phial in my hands and wonder how it is possible that such a small thing can have so much power. When I open it and inhale its contents, it changes the world around me. . . ."
It's called "Tomorrow" because T'Pol keeps telling herself she will quit "Tomorrow."

Re Escriba, yes, that's true. It's fun watching poor Trip beat his head against that, though. He's perfect for her because he's the only person in the universe who's willing to call her on it.
Re Peter Simons -- I'm sure I've read that but I'll have to put it on the reread list.
