Just so everyone knows, I've looked up my own latin title:

Periculosus Absentis--aka Dangerous Mission
New:
Coming Home: Five+Epilogue
6.06: Fall Out

Under Construction:
The Prank War 2
Secret Meetings, Story Two--Wet
6.07: Vestiges of Qualor
Coming This Christmas (December 2012): White Christmas
Hybrid: Prologue & Chapter One--Inspired by Aquarius's "Tag" challenge.

If the somewhat faint memory of mine still works, I think the words have to be switched

Absentis Periculosus

Word order is flexible in latin. Myself, I would have used legatio rather than abesntis - it gives more of a sense of being on a mission rather than simply away - but it works.

negotium is neuter, so make it negotium periculosum and you should be good.

Since it just now struck me not everyone speaks latin and we're delving into the realm of non-mottos with our titles:

1. Semper Fi (Always Faithfu'l) by Kotik, posted
2. In Extremis ('At the Last/utmost/end of all things') by Distracted , posted
3. Igni Ferroque (litterally 'Fire and Iron,' but is an idiom for 'Scorched Earth') by aadarshinah, posted
4. Horror Gelus (more or less 'The Quaking of the Ice') by Enerdhil, beta'd; I'll put it in for submission tomorrow night
5. Negotium Periculosum ('Dangerous Task') by Ginamr, in the works

If I have well understood what Ginamr meant, I suggest Periculosum Mandatum
Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to
The Ears of the Elves, chapter Forty-four

And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

A mandate sounds more like a political term. I think the suggestion of aadarshinah is quite well.

Neh, it's ginamr's choice. Mandatum is a commission, command, or contract - also neuter, if you choose it for your title. Negotium is a business, work, trouble, matter, or thing. Pensum is a task, duty, weight, value, or spinner's work - neuter as well. Opus is masculine is a task as well, but more of a creative work than what I think you're probably going for... and probably more latin than you ever wanted, but Negotium Periculosum or Pensum Periculosum will work for what I think you're intending...

I took my title for meaning " (Strong) Fear to the Cold". Of course, in English - without the Latin declinations - a more concise title could be Cold Horror, and that will have ambiguous meaning (I didn't want to spoil, but you had already beta-ed, so you can guess...)

To risk getting into a tiresome disscusision of Latin, Horror, horroris, m., can translate as bristling, shivering, quaking, ague; terror, fright, awe, or a terror - at least, according to my latin dictionary, which I really must find a better place for than on my desk after all these years of not taking latin. Then, since gelus is 2nd declension and in 1st person singular, I assumed that you were going for something like "Quaking Cold," or "Ice Terror." But it works. Don't know what my magistrae might say about it, but I got the meaning....
