Re: Weird TnT Dynamics
Forget Decon it works in the Ready Room scene. Just like P/T worked when Tom and B'Elanna saw each other on the Ocampa World. And Riker and Troi laid eyes on each other. Those actors just clicked.
Some of these people haven't taken their medication. Let's see what happens now...

Riker/Troi never had much appeal for me - too much happened off-screen, so it was more telling than showing. B'Elanna/Tom worked right from the get-go, they were a perfect match and the show made use of it. In fact B/T was the only redeeming fature of the show - that scene in 'endgame', where the doc tells tom there's 'someone who wants to say hello' makes me cry every time i watch it. The infuriating thing about ENT is, that they didn't use the perfect chemistry between jolene and connor. the whole contrived angst scheme throughout season 4 stretched credibility beyond the breaking point. Had they invested more time into developing a real romance for TnT - the show would have been way more interesting and they might even have clawed back some of the disgruntled viewers, the whole dancing around each other most likely peed off more viewers than it attracted.

Re: Weird TnT Dynamics
Well Dearie we'll just have too agree to disagree. I thought Season 3 was the contrived angst season of TnT. I thought season 4 was pretty realistic in terms of the problems an interspecies couple might face in the 22nd century. It's kind of a bummer though, I mean it's a hopless debate.
Personally I'm not one for "instant gratification" in a "Ship" relationships take work and time to progress. A so called happily ever after should not happen quickly. Also even the very best relationships can be messy. Nobody is perfect, problems happen. I like it when fiction reflects that to an extant. So I've got to say out off all the Seasons I liked season 4 the best. I thought TnT was at it's most credible. And I thought Season 3 was the least. I didn't have any basis to believe they would work out in Seasn 3. Home actually convinced me that they were strong enough to work through the hard realities of being a couple.
