New Fanfiction System Feedback

This may have already been posted and I missed it, but I am unable to access any stories by author.

It's really much brighter and bolder than before, but with the spacing being different today it's not so tight and it seems easier to see today. May just need to get used to it. My eyes aren't as young as they used to be and take time to adjust. I do like the changes. Love being able to look up stories by genre or keywords.

Checking out my little bits of fluff, I notice that most of them now have "Chapter 1" attatched to the title (?) and that several of them have the same single comment - one that doesn't seem to apply.

Probably best not to number the first chapter, in order to avoid making all the one-shots sound incomplete.

Most of my peices are poems. Poems don't have chapters, as a rule. Unless you're T.S. Eliot or something. I think the same thing has happened to all the poetry.

Yes, but avoiding the automatic Chapter One would solve that issue both for poems and for stories that don't have chapters. I think fanfic.net doesn't start officially numbering chapters until chapter 2.

The dates are funky too. I know pdsldl's story that's listed second was probably in February and definitely not March 9th as it says. And my chapter 9 was updated March 9, not Feb. 3. Those two must have gotten switched somehow.

Okay, and in poetry the dates don't appear too off to me, but these things are listed in no order I can determine. Linda's was the last one up, I think, but there are two earlier ones above it. Etc. etc. Despite all the whining I know this is a tremendous achievement. I just think we'll need some tweaking to get these kinks worked out.

That's what you'll get now if you go to the old fanfic page - Mike disabled it so there was no confusion about links not working (on the old page the links were just dead), now there is no old page.

Btw, Mike is now keeping tabs on this thread, so he'll see everything you guys are posting:

1) Some fics seem to be out of date order

2) Fics from the last add aren't there (and 1 or 2 from before aren't there)

What fics aren't present that were posted earlier than March 10th?
