No. No. It's not bad, or evil, or the end of the world. Writers who leave stories unfinished, they don't do this for the express purpose of making your life miserable.

I don't think that's what he really meant necessarily. Remember that English isn't his first language.

Thanks, CX.
I think you understood my thought. :)
Well yes. I continue to write. And on Fanfiction.Net, for those who want, it is possible to cast a glance at my latest efforts. We arrived to

And here is the beginning of the whole story.

But, I must say, you could also find something else on Fanfiction.net written by me. If you want.

I liked - and still like - Rigil's stories very much, but - while I still think it is sad - I can understand that he stopped writing at this moment. Just hope that he will continue one day.

I loved Endeavour to bits, and I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say I think it's one of the finest pieces of Enterprise fiction available. Rigil has a way of combining the realistic with the fanciful that very few writers acheive, not to mention that his original characters truely come to life, which is something that you certainly can't say for many OCs. His Endeavour stories just read so beautifully. For me it really is a crying shame that he's decided to move on to other things, but as others have said I do respect his decision - I just wish he hadn't left us mid-book. :(

Rigil told me that he would like to finish his ST fics someday. But right now he would prefer to leave them unfinished rather than do crap work. I can't argue with that. He is buried in RL school and work. Plus he is burned out on ST for right now. He is writing a new Star Wars story on ff.net called "Sidereal", got five chapters up so far, at

http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4259199/1/Sidereal

I recommend it if you like Star Wars at all. It is up to his usual standards of quality, IMO.

Can't speak for writers as I don't know any making their living at it.

One does what they need to do.

I think Rigil taking a respite from an area he has lost interest in makes sense. Hopefully he is putting full effort into his school work. Many tend to see college as a lark or a continuation of high school. For them it may be. In my limited experience, you get out of it directly what you put into it with the value of the expreience being directly related.

I thoroughly enjoyed his ENterprize era writings. As there is little of interest for me in the Star Wars universe I shall forgo those.

Yes I also would like to read the compleated stories left in Endeavour and Foundations. Preferrably not just a quick and dirty makeshift effort tacked on as a sorta ending. (No, this isn't meant as a knock at others that have done that, even though if they had any literary integrity at all they would make it right. :-P) Although if he were to come up with a logical reason that fit the story line he could end it in just a single page or so. (I'm sure most wouldn't like it.)

I can understand Rigil's position. I do make a living from writing, and there's only so much time in the day for it. Work comes first, and then real life issues and then you have just a tiny little bit of time left over for whatever you're passionate about. Sometimes it's fic writing, and sometimes not. I still have stories unfinished that I've been working on as time permits, but unfortunately, it's just not happening as quickly as I'd like. Only so many hours in the day.

As a relative newcomer to ST fan fic I, too, wish that Rigil had finished his series, but way leads on to way. Perhaps in an age not too distant his less traveled path will include the conclusion to his tale, and then we can all sigh that promises were kept.

Thank you. I suppose the name is a bit philosophical as Pleitho is the goddess of persuasion. I've used it for some years on a few boards although I don't think I am the only one using it.

Perhaps the spirit of the goddess can prevail on Rigil to someday return to his wonderful storyline. In the meantime, I am enjoying the stories and the forum.

Yep. Still has sharp pointy things as well as not-quite-so-sharp pointy things, but the tone is much less forboding!
